About the Author

Clark Howard was born in Tennessee and raised in a series of foster homes in Chicago, and he served with the US Marines in Korea, Howard is the author of many novels and true crime books, as well as more than two hundred short stories, primarily in the crime and mystery genres. His work has won the prestigious Edgar Award, five Ellery Queen Awards, and the Derringer Award, and he has been nominated for Anthony, Shamus, and Spur Awards, among other honors. Additionally, Howard’s stories have been adapted for both film and television.

    Un put down able..!!! A great read. This book reads like a novel and is well written. There were a few grammatical errors , but were easily overlooked. I have visited Alcatraz and it is very interesting to tour it.

    If you can get past all the typos & bad sentence structure, this is a good book. The story kept me engaged & I did find it hard to stop reading. But as I’m reading it, I kept wondering how the author knew what was really said between characters given all are deceased! Obviously, the author made up a lot, if not most, of the dialog! But I still enjoyed the story.
