The Shift (Worlds of Juno Book 1) Kindle Edition
"If you think this Universe is bad, you should see some of the others." -Philip K. Dick
It’s prom night for Pinkersville High School senior Jimmy Zarici. A proud space nerd, until today all he wanted to do was study aerospace engineering, play video games, and get to home base with his girlfriend. Tonight, his life will change forever, but not exactly as he’d hoped. In the blink of an eye, the constellations in the night sky are replaced by unfamiliar stars.
Earth is thrust into chaos as humanity realizes the planet has been transported to another star system. But we are not alone: Seven other versions of Earth, plucked from alternate universes, orbit a star much like our Sun. On one of these planets, the Third Reich is in charge—and they have armed spaceships headed our way.
Jimmy finds himself part of a select few who will determine the future of humanity. Led by US President Fairuza Bishil—a committed leader, haunted by loss and suddenly called on to guide the world through an unprecedented interplanetary crisis—they include Tim Brown, an underemployed genius working the NASA night shift until the universe changed on his watch, and Anna Kozinski, a psychology professor finally finding her place in a world that has lost its own.
Against a backdrop of fear, anxiety, and global crisis, this brave and diverse team must navigate family drama, terrestrial conflict, and a whole bunch of complicated equations as they struggle to save Earth from the greatest enemy it has ever faced. Join them as they collaborate across nations and universes to battle the forces of evil—and find love along the way.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 25, 2023Enjoyed reading The Shift. Eagerly followed all the main characters throughout the book. Would recommend to anyone who reads science fiction stories. Waiting for the next edition.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 30, 2020An imaginative and well written take on an alternate history reveals what could happen should a shift in power emerge in our universe... While completely science fiction, the book does pose a very interesting dilemma that could easily pervade any number of layers in society such as religion, politics and economics.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 10, 2021I really enjoyed this book and look forward to more in the series. The characters were well fleshed out and the story is interesting. I can't wait to read more!
- Reviewed in the United States on August 15, 2020One night in the twinkling of an eye the earth is transported into a new universe. This shift will forever alter the lives of political figures and ordinary people. Scientists find that Juno, the star around which Earth now orbits, has eight versions of earth circling around it. Earth 2 is a world where the Nazis and an Asian band of countries rule the earth. Events will bring Earth into conflict with their dictatorial neighbors. The main characters in this book are realistic and likable, and I enjoyed reading about them and their transformed lives. This book is very interesting and detailed. I liked that it was basically PG-13. I did not see graphic sex or gratuitous violence. This is great light reading for any science fiction fan, or a person who wants to try out the genre. I would recommend it.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 1, 2020We're all aware of the multiverse theories; every decision any of us make spawns a new universe for each choice. Well, I'm aware, so I assume so is everyone else! (Call me Zero, for I am the center of my universe.) Anyway, with all the people on this planet, and who knows how many other planets, it seems like there'd be a huge number of alternate universes!
In this novel, eight alternate Earths are snatched by powerful and mysterious entities, and placed in orbit around a Sol analog (it's not our sun, but close enough you'd not notice without instruments), all spaced out in the same orbit. I'm suggesting plural, but since we never meet them, who knows?
On one of those Earths, the closest one, Germany won World War II, resulting in a radically different world society that what we have. Their technology isn't as advanced as ours, but their space exploration is far beyond what we have. They even have a lunar colony, a prison lunar colony.
As though the folks on our Earth aren't having enough trouble coping with what's happened, monitoring the Nazi Earth's radio broadcasts soon indicates that at some point, probably sooner than later, they will make a strike on our planet for our resources. And what about the other Earths....what about them?
As I said, quite the concept. Executed very well, and I look forward to the next installment.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 27, 2020Possibly more 4.5 stars but the premise and concept here make up for any minor flaws. Great story with good characters that will grab you.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 1, 2021I did enjoy this, and I am curious to see the next installment.
But...
The author jumps around a lot, kind of like a cross between Tom Clancy and David Weber, which I found kind of annoying as it makes the pacing trend to drag, so I found myself skim-reading a fair amount to get to the parts I found interesting. I felt like too much time was spent developing characters who seem to be just bit players, but I acknowledge that the author may intend for them to take on greater roles in subsequent books.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 16, 2020I enjoyed the story plot and the phasing of this book. It has a strong female protagonist and well-developed characters. Recommended to those who are into Sci-Fi.

4.0 out of 5 stars World's War
A fun start to a series: you've got an interesting hook (multiple parallel Earths in the same system and one is Nazis), a diverse ensemble cast from different walks of life, and two exciting combat scenes, one using hard sci-fi ideas to show how space war would work. It's a good read though clearly setting up a sequel or two.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent start to what promises to become a very interesting series.
In the blink of an eye, our Earth is shifted to a strange new setting. No less than 8 alternate Earths are now orbiting the same star somewhere in the space continuum. How is that for an opening!
Earth2, the closest one, is a world where the Nazis won. They make convincing (although maybe a bit too convenient) villains for the story. They promptly launch a vicious (nuclear & biological) assault against an Earth that has hurriedly managed to put an united defence.
This first attack is repulsed but damage is extensive. Moscow is nuked and Russia left tethering on the brink of civil war between different factions. Relations between the 2 remaining world powers, USA and China, are shaky while the rest of the planet mostly stumbles along.
The stage is well set for further instalments and there are all the other alternate Earths still unplayed. Let us hope for a quick sequel.
