    So much of this book brought me to tears because it made me realize buried things from my past. There are so many raw truths in this book and real life examples that will hit you hard. My life has been filled with emotional ups and downs and traumas - much like all of humanity - and I lost a lot of faith in Western Medicine because none of my doctors paid attention to what was really happening to me deep down. It's so refreshing to know that doctors are now opening up to the root causes of our physical ailments, illnesses and diseases instead of just trying to treat our symptoms. And to know that they are seeking more truths to help themselves help others! What a relief! Thank you, Rachel, for shedding light and helping to build the bridge to connect all healers! Definitely read this if you want to open yourself up to the world again!

    Dr. Taylor effectively captures our current zeitgeist with her enthralling book. A must read for anyone who regards their mental, physical, emotional or spiritual health. She delves into one of the most prominent areas of interest and current research - the mind-body connection. With her background as an emergency room physician and primary care provider, she effortlessly weaves her experience and knowledge into clear, concise, compassionate and confident methods to improving our well-being. Her honest approach is one of deep kindness, mindfulness and acceptance - all patients (and non-patients) will be able to take away something truly meaningful from this excellent read. Her empathetic nature shines through each line – we are lucky to have a physician like her in the medical field.

    Dr. Taylor's book offers an insight into the lives of doctors and the dichotomy of the practice of medicine versus the realities of life. Addressing common issues of sleep deprivation, fatigue, acne, and other common illnesses prevalent in the 21st century through anecdotal evidence and easy to digest scientific findings. The book provides would-be patients an understanding of what might be causing their ailments before their next doctor's appointment and maybe sidestep another prescription drug or begin to roll off medications that might be doing more harm than good. This information is provided in a personal style format from her own perspective and inquisitive life that should appeal both to readers and podcast/audible listeners.

    This is a great book for anyone trying to change their life for the better. While it’s written with the intent for those with chronic disease to reduce/eliminate the need for medication, it will also benefit anyone looking to change their lifestyle to increase their own health and well-being.
    Rachel writes of advice I use myself, and also tell my clients. If you’re looking for ways to be a more healthy individual, I highly suggest reading this book. Enjoy!!

    Doctors do much more than run tests and write prescriptions. They are also humans with bodies and emotions. Dr. Reinhart-Taylor has been where you are and has felt how you feel. This book is full of real talk about what medications can and can't do for you, and simple steps to taking the lead in your own healing. Read it, and get back into the driver's seat of your health!

    I would recommend this book to all of my patients! An easy read and refreshing perspective from a physician, the author reminds us of the simple, basic lifestyle modifications that are essential to improving our health. I see “Polypharmacy” too often, unnecessarily, and this book encourages patients to MEDICATION DETOX.
