Excellent cookbook! My 13-year-old is obsessed with this book, and I am more than happy for her to try as many of these recipes as she wishes. Directions are easy to follow and teach a variety of skills that transfer to other recipes. What my daughter has baked so far has been absolutely delicious. Her latest effort—chocolate banana cream pie cupcakes—might be the tastiest cupcakes I’ve ever eaten. I’m sure this cookbook will be a go-to for her for many years to come.

I grew up baking from scratch with my mom so I know a good recipe when I see one and this is chock full of them. Simple ingredients and super cute designs. I am also happy that the sugar seems just right because I usually have to cut down the sugar in modern cookbooks and for these I didn’t need to. Well done American Girl!
