The Magic Mushroom User's Guide: The Psilocybin Handbook for Safe and Ceremonial Use of Psychedelic Mushrooms. A Practical and Sacred Journey for the Awakening of Consciousness Kindle Edition

4.7 4.7 out of 5 stars 178 ratings

“This is the book I would have liked to read before trying magic mushrooms. I would have saved myself many problems and a lot of time.”

How many should I take? How? Where? Mushrooms or truffles? What is the difference? What about Psilacetin? Music? Side effects and contraindications? Where to find them? What about microdosing? These are some of the questions you can find an answer to in this book.

The Magic Mushroom User’s Guide is like three books in one.

The first book is a Quick Guide, a few pages in which you find only essential information, useful not just as an introduction to the topic, but something you can read every time you need a summary of the steps to take and the ones to avoid.

The second book is an in-depth analysis of the Quick Guide in which we delve deeper into this marvellous and magical world, with more useful and interesting information.

The third book goes further and allows us to discover how the most advanced scientific studies and the most ancient spiritual traditions can come close to each other also thanks to mushrooms. Here you will find a number of original studies about mushrooms, essential for those who want to deepen their understanding of what these magical fruits of the Earth really are.

It is an indispensable text for beginners, also necessary for the more experienced explorers of states of consciousness and being, in fact the author deals extensively with ceremonial practices with mushrooms, both solo and in groups.

"This manual is the perfect choice if you want to meet Sacred Mushrooms; knowledge, respect and trust are the keys for not getting hurt and for getting to know yourself. "

“I must admit that this book really surprised me, I learned so much more than I expected!

It is not only a very detailed and complete guide to the use of magic mushrooms, with everything you need to know before having this kind of experience, starting from the motivation, where and how to organize it, setting, company, dosage, what to expect and all the information that can help you understand whether it is the right thing for you.

But then, in the second half of the book you can find some amazing insights about the possible origins of mushrooms, their history on this planet, medical, scientific and spiritual aspects related to this kind of experience.

As an extra bonus it contains a number of links to consult on the web, and all the bibliographic resources added at the end of the book, so that you can continue to research further.

It is such an interesting text, even for those who have already experienced mushrooms and know, or think they know, a few things about them.” (Alexandra Hopkins)

"I highly recommend this book even if you didn’t have a prior interest in the topic of mushrooms. The author makes this reading absolutely interesting: beside the fluidity of the text from beginning to end, every facet of the topic is described in a caring way toward the reader, but most importantly, in an engaging way. It is very noticeable that the author, although remaining objective throughout the book, is showing sensitivity toward the reader by making sure that everything is narrated in a responsible and accurate way.

The book is divided in sections, which makes the information about the topic well organized and easy to follow." (Daniela Owen)

Balanced and needed. This book fills a very valuable niche on the subject.

Balanced and needed. This book fills a very valuable niche on the subject.
Many people erroneously see "shrooms" as a recreational substance. However psilocybin is a very powerful medicine (and like any medicine has the potential for use and mis-use). What Tripson has created here is a guide to how critical it is to look at this molecule with a serious eye, and how, with proper guidance and set & setting, it has the potential to heal and provide lifelong gifts to the people who correctly use it.

This may be one of the best books I've ever encountered about psychedelics. It offers both a comprehensive, careful introduction to psychedelics – – how to manage your first experiments and the extraordinary rewards available with careful and deliberate use.

The second half of the book, however is breathtaking. The author launches into a far reaching exploration of what the benefits of suicide and are for you as an individual, and even for humanity as a whole

I had read the blog, which led me to the book. I hesitated purchasing it because there's so much info already on the internet, but I'm so glad I did. It is incredibly thorough, easy to read and thoughtfully presented. There are also great links to articles, books and videos if you want to delve in even further. As a beginner contemplating using psychedelics, I had felt overwhelmed and scared. After reading this book, I feel much more prepared and know what to do to set up for a positive experience. Now I want to try the second book!

Had been curious to try mushrooms for a while and got a chance previously but the experience was not great. I sought a resource for some practical information on making the next time good and valuable and this book definitely did that in a clear and concise manner. There is a solid section on basic practical considerations such as preparation, intention, set, setting, post-trip integration and more. Further sections include info on how one might go about exploring deeper using mushrooms should someone want to explore more. These later section include detailed information on how to go about doing so for maximum benefit and how to be able to do so in a physically and psychologically safe manner. If you're curious to try and not sure where to start, try this book and take what you want and what works for you.

Love the info in the book and the author is very genuine and really cares about your journey. If feels lobe he didn’t use an editor or proof reader before publishing. Could be because of the subject matter or legality issues but it makes for a difficult read. He’s trying to get his point across but doesn’t seem very successful causing you to read paragraphs several times. However , this is well worth the money.

I have experienced several traumas in my life and find myself living my life with my emotions on mute. A few years ago I learned of the healing that psychedelics can bring but I have not had my first experience. I don't know when I will be able to utilize this medicine but after reading this book I feel fully prepared for the experience. My deepest gratitude to DM Tripson for writing this book.

I have been taking microdoses for a year and I was encouraging myself to go for the higher doses but was a little reluctant. After carefully reading the book I am ready to go! Perfectly explained and with very good information. Reading it felt like I know the author personally. I totally identify with him!

This was a great title. Academically explained with great backing research. A great testament to ‘decriminalising nature’ and the why, how and when to enlighten your consciousness :0)

It’s inspired me to read more on the subject.

Thank you for the good writing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Much more than a guide
Reviewed in Italy on February 13, 2023
The "guide part" of the book is very practical, insightful, and easy to go through with all the needed data. I couldn't wish for more.
The book also touches on some very interesting concepts and theories and philosophy directly and indirectly related to the main topic, kind of a door opener that wants to show you the existence of those industry cultures, ramifications, and the industry representatives; everything made with the right touch, without being too heavy and too biased on things. It would have probably taken me years to know the existence of some topics. Very good to have them rolled out like that, mainly because it tells you enough to make you curious about things you may like but not too much to annoy you about something you are not interested in.
I'd suggest this book to anyone, even if you don't like psychedelics.
