About the author

Gemma Weir is a half crazed stay at home mom to four kids, one man child and a tiny hell hound. She has lived in the midlands, in the UK her whole life and has wanted to write a book since she was a child. Gemma has a ridiculously dirty mind and loves her book boyfriends to be big, tattooed alpha males. She's a reader first and foremost and she loves her romance to come with a happy ending and lots of deliciously swoonworthy moments.

Great age gap book

- Reviewed in the United States on March 19, 2025This was a great book. Many of my favorite tropes-age gap, alpha male, jealous, OTT possessive man in love and so protective of his girl.
Bonnie was perfect for him. She was a 22 year old virgin who hadn’t had the freedom to do much in her world .
Great family dynamics between Beau and his brothers. Bonnie had found not only a great partner, but a newfound family to become a part of.
This book was light, easy reading. Thoroughly enjoyable. I read it after a couple of very dark , heavy novels with multiple trigger themed books. Sometimes you just need something fun, happy, light, & full of spice and not heavy on the plot.
Perfect palate cleanser. Just made me smile.
I also read and listened to the audiobook simultaneously.
Bonnie the MFC voice actress nailed her part perfectly. The MMC voice sounded oddly like he was trying to hard to represent an easy going, simple mountain man. It ended up making him sound like an elderly man.
Still there was something endearing about him. when he would forget and slip into his natural speech, it was perfect. 👌🏻
- Reviewed in the United States on December 18, 2024The story centres completely on the couple, there's bantering, straight out arguments, laughter, WTF moments, completely entrancing, just a caveman and his chosen woman, figuring 'them' out, she is not a simpering docile woman, but he is a brute with strong hands and one of those men you wish YOU could rile in. Great happy family dinamics that makes you miss the fact that your not part of it.
It is a mountain men story with less grunting and more arguing. Totally loved it.

This was the first book I read by the author Gemma Weir. I had heard a lot of good things about this series and that made me very curious so I decided to read the first book.
This is a small town romance story. The main characters are Beau Barnett and Bonnie Williams. Beau is 43 years old and owns a logging company. Beau has 6 brothers and he is the eldest. All the brothers are single and very popular with the ladies.
Bonnie is 21 years old and has had a crush on Beau for many years. They may be neighbors but Beau never showed any interest in her. Until the day that some stranger flirts with her at the coffee shop where Bonnie works. From then on, Beau makes it very clear that he sees Bonnie as his woman. Bonnie doesn’t really understand this big change in Beau and isn’t really happy with the extreme alpha way that he wants to control her life. She doesn’t believe that Beau really wants her, she thinks it’s just a fling. Can Beau convince Bonnie that she’s the one for him?
After reading this story I’m left with mixed feelings about it. The story itself was light-hearted and easy to read. The main female character may be young but she was intelligent, hard-working and sassy. She stood up for her freedom and choices and yes, Beau could easily seduce her, but then she was young and inexperienced. My ‘problem’ had to do with the main male character Beau. Normally, I don’t have a problem with dominant, alpha males in my stories (I even like them!), but Beau was too overbearing for me. The only reason that I kept reading this book to the end was because Bonnie was strong enough to not put up with his alpha behaviour. She may be young and been in love with Beau for years, she wasn’t happy with his suffocating attention.
The story was told in both POV’s and there were some hot and steamy sex scenes in the story.
I really liked Bonnie’s father, he was a great guy. I didn’t like Bonnie’s older brother and it never really was discussed why he and Bonnie had a difficult relationship (I missed that in the story). Just the fact that Bonnie’s boss was a terrible boss. I was surprised that nobody did something about it. The relationship between Beau and his brothers was very special. They all lived together in the parental home and cared very deeply for each other. They were each other best friend. They were also the reason that I wanted to read this story to the end. They were a fun bunch.
I’m not sure that I read more books in this series. I have a feeling that all the brothers will be very alpha with their woman.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 10, 2025I'm really glad I didn't listen to the negative reviews. I really don't get where most of them concluded on the thoughts they did. Beau was awesome. Yes, he was pushy and possessive and super jealous. He was also sweet and kind. And when it truly was important, when push came to shove, he listened. Really Bonnie bothered me more and I still loved her. She was a strong heroine. She was super sassy and didn't let him railroad over her life. But she wasn't listening to him when he repeatedly told her how he felt about her and how different it was with her. I mean, they all said they don't bring a woman to their home unless she's staying forever. Hello!? Earth to Bonnie! 😂😂 But seriously, I really loved it. I'm not usually a fan of the MMC being a manwhøre up until getting the heroine when he has a thing for her for so long. But Beau is 43 and has been a confirmed bachelor since high school. Gemma made it more palatable by him really not realizing the depths of his feelings. I just started book two. I can't believe it took me so long to start this series.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 26, 2023I cannot stress enough to read the warning at the beginning of the book. This author is straight forward about the content and does not mess around. If anyone failed to read the warning and then hated the book for exactly what the author said it would be, that is on them.
That being said, I thought the series was great. The characters immediately captivate your attention and the stories offers an entertaining storyline. I liked that these stories do not follow the same outline as typical romance/spicy novels. I would describe them as a fast burn. The heat is turned all the way up and the smut is intense.
The 3rd book in the series is my personal favorite and the 6th is my least. However, I thoroughly enjoyed them all. I binge read the series over a 5 day period of time with no regrets.
I did not give the series a five star rating because there are quite a few Grammer mistakes. I can read through them, but I know that bothers somd people. Also, there was a spot where the author accidentally switched where one of the characters was from, but it was corrected later on. Based on the authors comments at the end of the book, she seems like a busy wife and mom and mistakes happen.

4.0 out of 5 stars 🌶️ spicy !!!
TW: DO NOT read this book if you DON'T like extremely possessive and jealous men!! It's not up for everyone, but I liked it. Ok it was kinda fast but still, I loved their story, their chemistry and his brothers are everything to this book. That's what I loved the most about this reading, the BROTHERS !!!!!! YOu can tell they are extremely sexy ! Anyway I recommend this book I will definitely read the series, it passes time and it's a good read but like I said it's not up for everyone !!

5.0 out of 5 stars great quick read
Beau is one of the most OTT obsessive posessive Alphamale types I’ve ever read, if you are looking for a cute romance just be warned this won’t be it. Bonnie though sweet and hardworking really has her work cut out for her when Beau sets his sights on her.
Throughout the book there’s heated spice between these two; if you love a caveman type of guy you are in for a treat.
Loved reading about all the Barnett brothers looking forward to seeing how their stories pan out too

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE!!!
This is SUCH a fantastic book!!! The mmc is so ott/j/p, yes so sweet and caring!!! I would love to have a Beau of my own! I also love that the fmc is strong-willed and doesn't take his crap or let him walk all over her. The spice was 🥵🔥🫦 whew!! I also really loved how the author acknowledged her washing her hands after using the bathroom, lol! Her father Hal was an awesome support character as well. I'm guessing Dan left town, haha! Looking forward to reading the rest! Great work, Gemma! I recommend this series in my Facebook smut readers group 😘👌🏽💗

2.0 out of 5 stars Too much, even for me.
Okay. I'm no stranger to possessive, obsessive men. But Beau took this to a whole new level, a level I'm most definitely not comfortable with. Too much growling, too much yelling, too much everything.
I get it. He 'owns' her, she's his. But all they did was yell at each other? To be fair, it didn't even seem like she liked him until the last chapter. And then all of the sudden they're getting married and moving in together. Okayyyy.
Normally I would've DNF'd this, but I did really love this family dynamica. Beau and his brothers share such a strong connection. I loved to see that and I absolutely loved how they welcomed Bonnie into the family. It's the sole reason I finished this.
