Mountain Calling (BIG-Secrets of Mountain Men Book 1) Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 1,626 ratings

Hiking through the mountains hunting for Bigfoot wasn't her idea of a great time, but a paycheck was a paycheck.
Having a giant, grumpy mountain man as her guide couldn't hurt either...
Except there was something odd about the frowny Thor lookalike tasked with keeping her group safe in the mountains of Appalachia. Something that piqued her curiosity and pulled her in, bringing her dangerously close to revealing a secret she holds close.
One that seems to be getting bigger with each passing day.
But secrets have a way of revealing themselves and when she's attacked by a bear in the woods, she finds out her secret is nothing compared to his.

Mountain Calling is book one in an overarching series and features:
⛰ A Broody Mountain Man
🎥 A Fiery Camerawoman
💞 Fated Mates
👣 Legendary Beasts
💘 The Ultimate Hurt/Comfort

***Mountain Calling was previously published as Hagen, book 1 in the BIG series.***

I am a stay-at-home mom who needed a freaking break from never-ending conversations with five-year-olds about poop and farts.

So I decided to write books.

And drink whiskey.

Sometimes simultaneously.

I live on a farm-ish in southwestern Ohio with three kids, one husband, fifteen chickens, nine ducks, a guinea pig, a gecko and whatever else my husband and children think sounds like fun. I love to cook and to pretend like my house is clean.

This book is AMAZING!!! I could not put it down! I’ve read Alaskan Security by Janice Whitaker’s alter ego, Jemma Westbrook. For some crazy reason, I never read the Mountain Men series. HUGE MISTAKE!! This book does not get nearly enough attention!! It’s a tad supernatural but nothing so crazy that EVERYONE can’t enjoy it even if you shy away from the supernatural. It’s 99% human! Haha! I would’ve read it in one day had I not started it at 10:00 at night. I dropped my kindle on my face twice and was forced to wait until the next day to finish. It is just such an amazing story about people who never feel they quite fit but discover that they are enough and perfect as they are once they find their place in the world. We all need our tribe, and these people find theirs. Just amazing! Makes your heart smile. Makes you swoon. All the feels!!! Also, I need a Stewart in my life too. He’s an amazing best friend ❤️❤️❤️

I’ve read all of this series and have moved onto the Big Northwest series. I love the idea of Bigfoot shifters (?). I especially love how strong the women are. It’s really refreshing to see strong women doing as they please, not being apologetic for it and the men LOVING it! HEA in every story is nice, as well.

It's a totally different type of love story. Can't wait to ready the rest of the stories. Love those mountian men.

I wasn’t sure if I’d warm to the ‘mountain men’ but I this book proved me wrong. It had just the right amount of drama, friendship and love, with a feel good story you just want to read until the end.
