Death by Diamond (The Emma Goldsmith Mysteries Book 1) Kindle Edition
Emma Goldsmith has landed her dream job as gemologist to a major importer, complete with an assistant, JT, who is hotter than a blow torch. She should have known it was too good to be true.
Her sister Jane, an internationally successful model, loses some diamonds borrowed from Emma’s boss, leaving Emma on the hot seat. When Jane is killed, Emma has to deal with a dead body, a cop who wants to pin the murder on her, and a very angry boss who wants to know what happened to his diamonds.
Only a few days ago, Emma’s life was as flawless as the Koh-i-Noor. Now it's more like a cracked cubic zirconia. She's up to her ears in diamonds at work, but this mess is no gem. If she doesn’t get some clarity on who the killer is, and find those diamonds, she might be the next one to lose her sparkle.
Permanently.

About the author
Jenny Andersen had to be a writer because everything she did led straight to the page...eventually. After a career as a scientist, she embraced make-believe and got an M.A. in Writing Popular Fiction. Her stories usually involve furry characters as well as strong women and hunky men.
Second Chance Heroes is a series of stand alone stories. The settings and heroes are different in each book, but familiar characters do visit from book to book. And there are no cliff-hangers.
Second Chance Heroes are strong, confident men...ranchers, cops, horsemen, miners, sheriffs... They’re hot and each one needs the right woman (whether he knows it or not). My job is to make sure he finds her.
Come West and follow their stories.
Jasmine Haynes said this about Reckless Promise: Fun on the range. A hot redhead, a susceptible rancher, and an inconvenient promise that has to be kept make for an extremely satisfying read. Prop your feet up for a few enjoyable hours because you won't want to put this book down!
So much for the Great American West. There's a new series on the block:The Emma Goldsmith Mysteries. Emma's a gemologist with a penchant for sparkly jewels and a habit of encountering murder victims. These cozy mysteries rely on her ability to find the perpetrators--and keep peace between the rugged cop and the happy-go-lucky hipster who clash over her. Relax in your easy chair and enjoy the glitter.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 25, 2022loved the book! I laughed, cried, sat on the edge of my seat. I even yelled at Emma a few times..lol. from beginning to end, this book is filled with fantastic characters and a rich story line. on to book 2...
- Reviewed in the United States on September 20, 2022A good cozy mystery. Nice plot with different happenings. The characters were wandering back and forth in the plot. The plot kept moving along.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 25, 2022A gemologist’s dream job easily turned into a nightmare. As a gemologist myself, this book was technically correct and a good who done it.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 29, 2021“Death by Diamond”, the very first Emma Goldsmith cozy mystery by Jenny Andersen, is a must read. The plot begins with suspicious interactions between the characters and a botched diamond theft with no clear perpetrator. When Emma’s sister, Jane, is murdered, it will be a challenge for the reader to put the book down from that point on. The author uses her formal education and experience as a gemologist to provide detailed descriptions associated with the precious stone business, adding credibility to the plot. There is also humor interspersed throughout and sexual tension between the protagonist and the primary detective to further keep the reader entertained. This cozy mystery is full of plot twists and turns, a “whodunit”, with no predictable ending.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 30, 2022Death by Diamond and Emma Goldsmith grabbed me right away. The author obviously knows her gems and all the terminology, which makes this a very unique series. The cast of characters, many of whom I’m sure will continue in the series, are delightful. Emma is a great character, and the dab of sexual tension between her and the detective adds just enough spice to delight readers. And this crime isn’t easy to solve! Can’t wait to read the next book!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 30, 2021The first book in the Emma Goldsmith series is both surprising and rewarding. Surprising in that you don't see the solution coming, and rewarding in that--well, who doesn't love to know more about diamonds? The author's experience in gemology is half the fun. Emma is easy to identify with; she's shy and unassuming, until she has a loupe in her hand. Then look out! I'm looking forward to many gems like this to come!
- Reviewed in the United States on February 22, 2022Fun cozy mystery, and I learned a lot about gemstones. Interesting characters, and I can't wait to find out what happens in the next book in the series.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 24, 2021A thoroughly engaging read! Love the writing style – full of wit and humor. This mystery kept me guessing right up to the end. I look forward to more adventures with Emma and have ordered the second book, Sapphire Secrets!
