Flesh & Blood Kindle Edition
Prince Suraj upholds his father's rule by devouring anybody who stands in the way. He has no purpose in life beyond serving his father.
Madhava fights to overthrow their sadistic rule. His quest for freedom and justice is the only thing that keeps him from following his dark urges down a bloody path.
When Madhava captures Suraj, he's faced with a choice: kill him--or attempt to win him over to his side. The fire between them is irresistible. Consuming. But trying to bring out the best in Suraj might bring out the monster in Madhava.

About the author
Adara writes almost exclusive m/m, but she has a fondness for bisexual protagonists. She enjoys a lot of darker themes, so you'll see a lot of that in her works.
When Adara isn't writing, she's reading, painting, playing video games, and rescuing cats. She also enjoys learning about languages and other cultures.
If you're ever curious about the specific content of her works, there are content notes for each story on the website (http://adarawolf.com).

Suraj is the demonic son of a warlord and a magician, used as a weapon against his father's enemies. When he's captured by rebels, he quickly falls head over heels for one of their number, an archer named
Madhava. He has to figure out how to reconcile his love for Madhava with the ideals his father has raised him to believe in all his life. And have some very kinky sex along the way!
I am a huge sucker for the "monster on a leash" trope and Wolf does it so amazingly here. Suraj's loyalty and the amount of trust he places in Madhava, and the way Madhava grows to trust him in return, is hot hot hot! Suraj is such a sweet, almost innocent protagonist (and yes I feel funny saying that considering he also, you know, kills a bunch of people, but it's true!) I loved his naïveté in the beginning, guilelessly swallowing all of his father's propaganda, and his insistence that everyone should just be able to get along was very charming. He's a great match to the more pragmatic Madhava, who is constantly questioning everything and fighting against his own inner darkness. Their affection for each other felt real and gave me all sorts of warm and fuzzy feelings. Honestly, despite the gore, I feel that this is one of Wolf's lighter works due to the love and respect Suraj and Madhava have for each other.
Do you like loyalty kink, consensual S&M, and characters giving into lust against their better judgement? Then this book will hit you in all the right places. As usual, Wolf's sensory details are A+ and the sex scenes always feel fresh and exciting. I found myself reading slowly just to make this book last longer, because I absolutely did not want it to end.
Warning: there is indeed a lot of gore and blood, and nameless extras get slaughtered by the dozens. Not for the squeamish. If you've got a strong stomach, though, give this book a try!
The story was really good, and I would read more about Suraj and Madhava to see where life takes them after all they've been through.
I'd say the book gets stars for an interesting premise as the main character struggles with his morality. Is he better than the tyrant he's trying to take down, if he's thrilled by having a flesh eating demon completely devoted to his every whim?
So... If you're looking for a fun, sexy romance, I'm not sure this is it. If you're looking for something different and somewhat gruesome, here you go!
Personally, I'm glad I got it via Kindle Unlimited. I wouldn't have wanted to spend money on it.
This book is dark with some humorous moments. The world building is on point, as usual.
I was rooting for the monster the entire way.
Also there might be a little bit of flesh eating, it's all good though.
The setting was interesting and I may have enjoyed the story if it had been handled with a modicum of wit.
The dialogue was, at best, awkward. It just didn't feel natural. I also feel that the "relationship" between the main characters was... unbelievable.
Dark fantasy. Another bandwagon to climb on. It has certainly been done better.

I've mentioned Suraj's devotion to Madhava, but I loved it so much. He was a like love-sick puppy who wanted to please his owner. He was so possessive and protective over Madhava! I was so happy when Madhava realized deep Suraj's love ran - even if he didn't understand or felt worthy of it - and accepted him.
In my opinion, this book is more relationship-focused, but there’s also an interesting political story. I loved the setting and the lore. It is inspired by South Asian culture, which I do not see a lot of fantasy books do in this genre.
While the story wasn’t dark dark , the title does not lie. Please check trigger warnings if interested.
Overall I really enjoyed Flesh & Blood! I would love to see more stories set in this world. There are a few side characters I am curious about and would love to know more about.
