Six Assassins - Box Set 1 (Six Assassins - Box Sets) Kindle Edition
The Denver Assassins Club has one rule: Step out of line and you become the next target.
900+ pages of high-stakes espionage and action!
Ember Clarke is a nimble killer-for-hire. She only accepts jobs to snuff out dirtbags who deserve it, like the serial rapist in her crosshairs. But when a rival Club hitman shows up to steal the contract and put a knife in her back, she has no choice but to add another stiff to her body count.
Ember is shocked to learn the Club will not tolerate killing another member, even in self defense. Her punishment is a grueling six-week gauntlet of being stalked by her peers, starting with an eagle-eyed sniper.
Can Ember turn the tables on the first of six, or will this hunter’s next bullet have her name on it?
Six Assassins - Box Set 1 contains the first three books in the pulse-pounding Six Assassins crime thriller series. If you like gritty noir heroes, shocking twists and turns, and pages so riveting they practically flip themselves, you’ll love the first half of Jim Heskett and Nick Thacker’s epic tale.

About the author
Jim Heskett writes stories about outsiders who fight crime.
The author was born in the wilds of Oklahoma, raised by a pack of wolves with a station wagon and a membership card to the local public swimming pool. Just like the man in the John Denver song, he moved to Colorado in the summer of his 27th year. He's never looked back. Aside from a wild year traveling the world, he hasn't let the Flatirons mountains out of his sight.
Jim fell in love with writing at the age of fourteen inside a copy of Stephen King's Carrie. Poetry provided his first outlet for teen angst, then later a smattering of mediocre screenplays, and eventually crime thriller fiction a la Elmore Leonard. In between, he worked a few careers that never quite tickled his creative toes.
He hasn't ever forgotten about Stephen King.
You can find him currently huddled over a laptop in an undisclosed location in Colorado, dreaming up ways to kill beloved characters.
Finally, and perhaps most importantly, he believes the huckle is the king of berries and he refuses to entertain any arguments to the contrary.
He writes award-winning crime thrillers seasoned with a dash of snark. Sometimes he writes these books with co-authors like Nick Thacker.

Ember and the Denver Assassins Club were in good graces with each other until she had to kill another assassin who was trying to kill her. Her punishment is taking on six other assassins, one of each week if she can live thru that. You will not be able to put this book down until you finish it ! Great cast of characters, non stop action and a story line with so many twists and turns you’ll be amazed at the end. Highly recommended !
Subtle Target
In the second week of a death combat, an assassin named Ember must once again figure who is trying to kill her and beat them to the punch. This is an awesome series and extremely fun to read. An awesome cast of characters, non stop action action and a deadly story line makes this very hard to put down.
Unstable Target
Ember Clark, member of Denver assassins club, is in week 3 of her trial for killing another assassin. Her punishment is 6 weeks of another assassin trying to kill her. This week she’s up against a total psycho who wants to make her part of his collection. Murder and mayhem rule supreme in the series of books. Awesome cast of characters, non stop action and a super story line will keep you reading without ever putting this book down.
Ember had been a government employee but has a new life as an assassin. She has been trained in the skills to do her new job, working up from being a trainee. She has nearly three years as a professional assassin. Ember tries to live by an honor code of killing only people who she thinks deserve to be killed.
Ember tries to live by a strict code which includes keeping her commitments, staying strong and continuing to hone her craft.
Books one through three are Ember's first three weeks in a kill-or-be-killed situation. She learns who her opponent is and then has to plan her week -- not your normal weekly planning, for sure!
The advantage of getting a set of books is that you are channeled through the sequence of events which is important to know the players and their backstories.
These pulse-raising adventures build on the intrigue of each week of inter-gang warfare.
I read a complimentary Advanced Reader Copy of this book & am voluntarily leaving an honest and unbiased review.
Subtle Target (Six Assassins #2), my thirty-first read from author Jim Heskett. Another excellent read! Next up, Unstable Target (Six Assassins #3).
Unstable Target (Six Assassins #3), my thirty-second read from author Jim Heskett. Another excellent read! The problem with writing a successful book is amplified in a successful series, the reader's expectations are that this book will be even better than the last. This is a good book, and I anticipate a good series, that you can't wait to turn the next page and read more. Next up, Captive Target (Six Assassins #4). I was given a Kindle copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
These are the first three of a series of six spellbinding novels by Mr. Heskett, and week worth the read!
