I read this book straight out in one day, couldn’t put it down! Beautiful story and nice build on the first book. I love the bigger storyline as well. Book is wel priced and well binded. I definitely recommend it.

    This is the second book in this series. They can be read as standalone books but I like them read in order. Jenna never planned to be a runaway bride but here she is. Phoenix lost his parents when he was barely eighteen. He moved to the mountain shortly after. Jenna is determined to make a life for herself. She is a photographer and has got a book deal for the area. The pair meet and Jack's while the guys are dropping off goods. Phoenix sells things he makes from wood and Jenna is interested in a table. The pair have an instant connection. But the road is a little bumpy. Jenna is also running from her controlling family. Phoenix has his worries about Jenna but she has her own worries. Can they figure things out? This book was a great read. These mountain men are caring and a bit on the shy side. These woman have a quiet strength about them. They can survive on the mountain. They may have been through some things but that won't stop them. Together these couples are wonderful. The men will do anything to protect their woman and make sure they are happy. I can't wait to read more books in this series. Wonderful job Kaci.

    I read the first two of this series, then listened to the rest on audio, now I have everything available in ebook and I’ll be reading the rest now instead of listening 😍😍😍 I can’t wait. They’re that good!!! The MMC’s “alpha-ness” blends perfectly with their protectiveness and devotion to their women. Each couple has their own story and their own start and you can really feel how they are perfect for each other. I think Axel and Emilie (Take Me To The River) will always be my favorite couple but I’ll definitely be re-reading all these books for years to come.

    Jenna leaves Denver after walking out of her wedding rehearsal. She drives until she finds a place she feels at home. That place is the mountains of Montana. She meets Phoenix at a store when she inquiries about furniture they have on display and discovers he makes it. She asks him to make one for her dining room table. Both feel an attraction but neither knows how to address it. Phoenix lives as much off-the-grid as he can. Jenna is intrigued by it and goes to his workshop when she needs to be off-the-grid. She also asks him questions about his lifestyle and, in return, he asks her to go hunting and fishing with him where he peppers him with questions. Both feel more and more comfortable with the other, then both pasts come up. Will they survive each other's pasts?

    I loved this book. I am jealous of Jenna finding Phoenix. I liked that they questioned each other. Their attraction was strong though. I liked that Jenna took time with Phoenix to find out about his lifestyle as well as his friends' lifestyles since they lived the same way. I loved Emilie. She was the female friend they both needed. She was level-headed and practical. Her advice was right on. I appreciated the way the men looked after one another.

    I look forward to reading the rest of this series.
