Pride of Justice: Love and family forged from two different worlds (Men of the Squadron Book 4) Kindle Edition
Capt. Christopher Halloren, 3rd son of a baron, transports a group of slaves he rescued to the missionary school in Freetown before attending the prize court to see if the judge will rule in favor of him and his crew so they can get on with the work of patrolling for slavers. The last thing he needs is to get involved with a beautiful mission teacher who seems hell-bent on putting herself in harm’s way with the illegal slave traders swarming at the fringes of Freetown.
Can they escape the destiny Society assigns them, or will they create their own?

About the author
Andrea K. Stein, the daughter of a trucker and an artist, never knew it would take the hard-work ethic of her father to achieve the light-filled magic of her mother’s art. She grew up a scribbler. The stories just spilled out. A newspaper and publishing professional for thirty years, she ran away to sea for three years, delivering yachts to the Caribbean, earning a USCG offshore captain’s license. Now, she writes about love and adventure on the high seas from her writing room in Colorado.

This book lands us in those far away where slavers and english navy collided path.
Rachel as the daughter of a slaver and a woman from the local tribe, rescued as a girl, she was adopted by the missionaries couple managing the area. And while she had a good upbringing and knows she is among the lucky people. But she can’t reconcile with the fact she needs to know more about her blood relatives. So when her adoptive father convinces her, she can’t stay much longer with him as he is aging and his demise will put her endanger, she knows she has little time left to fulfill her dream.
Even more when her prospective groom is not repulsive, quite the opposite. She must choose between blood and a future of her own making.
Christopher climbed the navy rank despite his wound, proving everyone an one-armed man can be as useful and dutiful than any other.
Yet, he believes if his impediment did not curb his ascent in the navy, it put a stop at any matrimony dream. Still the vicar’s daughter makes him hope again for more. But how a so beautiful woman could accept a crimped man as a spouse.
He is such a honorable gentle man, never praising his success and always ready to help.
A sweet quick read of two people who had to adapt to their circumstances and make a new path for themselves, up to them to meet in the middle.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from Bookfunnel. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I didn't know that the African tribes helped sell their own people for a little bit of money.
It breaks my heart to read about this.
I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
