Delightful Christmas novella compilation!

Delightful Christmas novella compilation!
Delightful compilation of three Christmas novellas by three fantastic authors all about second chances for love and reconciliation. Thoroughly enjoyed each story and the captivating characters. I quickly read through each story and found that they left me with a desire to know more and what happens next. The first novella Meet Me Under the Kissing Bough by Josi S. Kilpack is a lovely story about a young widow who decides to hold a house party after mourning her beloved husband. Deborah invites Phillip Dempsey, who was her husband’s good friend and has taken it upon himself to look after her and her three children. Phillip understands loss after losing his own wife and caring for two young sons.. Despite their inequality in rank, Deborah is willing to take a chance on loving again, but will her relatives support her or be a hindrance? This was a thoroughly romantic story of more mature characters seeking a second chance at love. I loved the twists and turns the story takes as Deborah tries to decide if it is worth risking her heart again. The second novella, Healing Hearts for the Holidays by Anneka R. Walker tells the story of both love and reconciliation as Julia and Esmond try to solve a decades old feud between their families. Julia and Esmond are both attracted to each other but see their relationship as doomed unless they can find out what happened all those years ago and reconcile their families. I loved the flirty Esmond and the thoughtful caring Julia. The other characters including Julia’s sister Alice were endearing. This story in particular drew me in and I really wanted to know more. The third novella, A Christmas Correspondence by Sarah L. McConkie is a creative gender swap retelling of A Christmas Carol. When Jacob Morleigh lost his wife, he turned into a different man. His bitter mistreatment of his young daughter Caroline altered her into a haughty, cruel, selfish young woman. Caroline now an adult does not mourn the loss of her father but enjoys her status and money. John Charleston has the unenviable task of delivering letters to Caroline after a promise to his dying father who was Jacob Morleigh’s steward. Each letter is a heartfelt apology offering Caroline the chance for change, forgiveness and even love. John is such a caring, thoughtful person. Caroline is extremely unlikeable at first, but her past makes her sympathetic. Her loneliness is palpable and I loved the way John was supportive and hopeful in her ability to change.Loved this collection and it can easily be read in one sitting. Each story is enjoyable and different while maintaining the theme of second chance love. With great characters and plenty of romance, I recommend this to those who enjoy clean historical romance, and sweet Christmas stories. I received this copy from the publisher through NetGalley. All opinions are my own and I was not required to provide a positive review.

Nice Christmas stories . I don’t often like all the stories in a compilation, but I recommend this whole book. It’s sweet and romantic. Uplifting.

I love stories set during the Christmas season. This collection includes three novella's set in England.

Meet Me Under the Kissing Bough is a sweet story about love after loss. Two fully grown adults try to find their way to love during a house party that she is hosting. Expectations and society make it difficult for them to be together, but love can find a way.

This story made me smile. I loved the stolen moments between the couple.

is a little more complex. For some unknown reason, two families have been at odds for years. After the marriage of Julia's older sister to Esmond's older brother, you would assume that the relationship can be mended. If anything it gets worse. The two work together to uncover the secrets while falling in love.

Esmond knows what he wants and it is Julia. He seemed like a character that is fun and sincere. He has a playful side that helped Julia trust him and let down her guard while they are together. This is a story that includes a bit of a Christmas miracle.

A Christmas Correspondence has a young lady who has not been treated right in the past and lets everyone know she is not happy. She is a terror to the young men who become her acquaintance. She belittles everyone around her and thinks she is superior. Letters from her deceased father help her find a new way to live.

I didn't realize when I started this book that it was a twist on "A Christmas Carol." I started to put two and two together as I progressed in the story. There were enough changes that made it its own story. This book shows that lives can be changed and hearts softened.

Three great Christmas stories. Author Josi Kilpack has long been a favorite, and I now have another author Sarah L. McConkie to add to my list of favorite authors. Very enjoyable reading.

This was one of my least favorite collections.

"Meet Me Under the Kissing Bough" was fine. Having middle aged protagonists was an interesting, but it also made for a bit slower story pace.

"Healing Hearts for the Holidays" was my favorite of the three stories.

"A Christmas Correspondence" was so slow and it was painful to slog through the story. I understand that some people do change, but I really didn't like Carolyn, and her story didn't make me like her more.

Content: clean. No profanity or sex.

I have loved everything that I have read from Covenant Communications and these novelas were so fun! Christmas novels are always enjoyable and I was super excited to read this collection because it had some of my favorite authors. Meet Me Under the Kissing Bough is a collection of Christmast novellas by Josi S Kilpack, Anneka R Walker, and Sarah L McConkie. I have read books by Josi S Kilpack and Anneka R Walker before, but this is the first book that I have read by Sarah L McConkie.
The first novella was Meet Me under the Kissing Bough by Josi S Kilpack. This was a lovely story about finding love after loss. Deborah Winfrey was learning to love again after the death of her husband. This was super cute and I loved reading about Deborah falling in love again. She loved her family and she wanted to be happy but she also wanted to make sure that her family was provided for.
The Second novella was Healing Hearts for the Holidays by Anneka R Walker. This was also amazing! I adored this story about Julia and Esmond as they tried to heal their families' broken relationships. They fell in love unintentionally but they were so cute together and fun to read about. Their conversations were a lot of fun and it was sweet to read about them coming together to help their siblings.
The third novella was A Christmas Correspondence by Sarah L McConkie. This novella was a lot of fun because it was a reimagining of The Christmas Carol. It was a new way of looking at the Christmas Carol and I loved it! The characters were awesome and I found myself cheering for them. Especially the hero of the story, John Charleston. The romance was sweet and it was lovely to read about Caroline changing and growing.
All of these novellas were lovely books. I enjoyed them all immensely and I don’t know if I could pick a favorite, they were all that good. Meet Me Under the Kissing Bough was a sweet book with lovely characters and interesting stories. I would totally recommend this collection of novellas. And I am excited to see what else these authors write!

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the publisher through Netgalley. All views expressed are only my honest opinion, a positive review was not required.

Well-written stories that have been well edited. The characterisations are good and the plots plausible. Very enjoyable, and in the main, low angst novellas.
