My Dead Husband Kindle Edition
When a woman learns her abusive husband is dead, it’s only the beginning of her nightmare, in this twisting psychological thriller by the author of Her Final Victim.
Ellie managed to escape from husband Kayden’s vicious abuse—and since learning from her mother-in-law that he’s taken his own life, she’ll never have to worry about him again.
But instead of relief, Ellie is now experiencing terror in the form of frightening phone calls, hostile strangers on the street, and what appears to be deliberate sabotage of her writing career. Thinking she’s spotted a reflection of Kayden’s face only makes her wonder if she’s having a breakdown . . . again.
With the help of a new man in her life, Ellie intends to head to Scotland and find out once and for all what is real and what is illusion—but the deeper her investigation goes, the darker the truth becomes . . .

- Reviewed in the United States on February 1, 2022Read this in 2 days. (stupid work kept me from devouring it in one day) my mind is blown. Another maze of dark twist and turns I never saw coming. Amazing.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 24, 2022Well this book certainly kept me engaged! Maybe a bit over the top... but interesting, well-paced and most of all disturbing. Not for the faint of heart, but it kept me up reading to finish!
- Reviewed in the United States on September 22, 2022While I thought the writing was good, it was hard to get through some parts of it. I found myself skimming to try and avoid the ickiest parts. I can usually handle a little sleeze or nastiness, but this was on a whole different level.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 8, 2022This book isn't filled with excruciating detail about the various types of abuse present in the story, but there's enough to make clear what is going on. I saw a different review comment on the profanity, which really is minimal and didn't bother me at all. Trauma and mental illnesses are nasty business, so you can't expect a clean narrative to always be realistic when telling a story.
The biggest twist at the end of the book made me scare my fiance awake because I actually yelled WHAT out loud. Most of these characters have done something completely repulsive, and when everything is exposed it makes for some head-spinning reading.
My only pet peeve is that some of the chapters are barely a page long. The varying length of each chapter (barely one to about 6) is something that I personally find annoying, but it doesn't detract from the story.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 3, 2022This book is not for the week! Foul language, graphic sex and violence abound but if that does not turn you away, this is a fascinating story.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 25, 2022This book is disturbing and not in a good way. It’s well written but it’s just not right. I had no idea what I was getting into when I started reading because the description of the book certainly didn’t let you know what you were in for. I’ll give you a brief description then let you know what it was really like.
Ellie had a very abusive husband named Kayden. She’s' gotten away from him now and has recently found out from his mother that he committed sucicide. She’s incredibly happy that she will no longer have to worry.
However, soon Ellie begins getting strange phone calls, terrifying street encounters with strangers, and some bad reviews being made about her latest book online. Now, she thinks she sees Kayden and is wondering if she is having a breakdown as she once did.
With some help from a new man/boyfriend, she has decided to head to Scotland and find out once and for all what is real and what isn’t. She just wants to see his grave to prove to herself he’s really gone.
Okay, that’s pretty much what you get when you are about to start the book. Sounds good doesn’t it? Well, this book lies heavily on sexual abuse, physical abuse, and something so very disturbing I don’t want to even mention it but lets just say it’s really all relative.
This book started out pretty good, had good moments, is well written in the sense that the author knows how to write a story but this book was absolutely icky. Should you read it? Well, I have decided not to tell you either way what to do here. Just go in wearily as there are a few triggers that may not be good for people who are sensitive to the things I mentioned above.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 5, 2022Overall, it was an ok book. There were definitely parts that I didn’t want to put the book down, I needed to know what was going to happen next. I feel like there was something missing at the ending. Like, that’s it?
Sometimes it was hard to follow but to be fair, one of the characters is schizophrenic so that character was definitely hard to follow at times.
And Trigger Warnings…domestic violence, rape, pedophilia, incest, mental illness, trauma,& abortion (very briefly discussed a couple of times.) I was completely caught of guard with the pedophilia stuff, I almost stopped reading bc of it but it was at the end of the book.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 30, 2022Great writing. Good flow. Good story telling.
The subject matter and some scenes are very uncomfortable.
Despite the absolutely twisted tale, it’s a definite 5/5, if only for the way someone could come up with such a macabre story.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a twist!
This book had me in suspense. Took me a little while to get into it, but the 3rd chapter I was hooked. Dark and twisted but had me on the edge of my seat.
Highly recommended this book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very twisted and Messed up 5 star read
This has to be one of the most messed up, twisted and brutal books I have read in a very long time.
I knew I was going to love it from the first chapter and I didn't want to put it down... And in fact finished it late at night whilst in bed, and then couldn't sleep for absolutely ages while my brain processed all the little twists and what I had just read!
I do so much reading that I forget the plots of books quite easily, but this is one of those books that will stay with me, and i will not only think of it for a long time to come, it will be one of those that I also recommend a lot when people ask for book recommendations.
I know Nathan is particularly proud of this book - and so he should be. It's definitely right up there in my opinion, alongside favourite reads from top authors.
Highly recommended and a very easy 5 stars from me.

5.0 out of 5 stars very dark
This book was so dark and very disturbing at certain parts but it was so good. I did not expect any of it to happen when the truth came out…
It took me some time to get into the book but once the good stuff started to happen i was so hooked. I wanted to scream and shout when the truth did come out i was so angry! Fantastic book
