This story starts off with the telling of a young female giving birth to drug addict baby. She was on drugs the whole time carrying him. Then later, a woman is killed, and sexual assaulted by the Killer. Detective Inspector Ruben Jameson is asked by Assistant Commissioner Addis at New Scotland Yard in Vauxhall to head the Special Investigation Unit or, the SIU for short. Detective Inspector Ruben Jameson takes the job. This book has detail of the events as you read. You will meet other characters like DC Alan Jesson, DS Sally Jones, DS Paulo Zukov, and more. Who is the "Anniversary Killer,"? And the ending to the story is just began for Detective Inspector Ruben Jameson. Head of the SIU. I enjoyed this story. I cannot wait for another book of DI Ruben Jameson.
Why do he kill? What is his Identity?
- Reviewed in the United States on June 19, 2022I am a big Luke Delaney fan but Senseless just didn't work for me. Way too repetitive. Covid played a part in the story as background and essential for the plot but I found it rather boring.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 8, 2022DI Ruben Jameson is the new leader of the SIU. He has a past he would rather forget, but the past has a way of coming back to the present. He also needs to prove himself to the team of detectives and himself that he can do this job. He has big shoes to fill. But a serial killer who thinks he is flying under the radar gives him a run for his money. Top it off with the virus causing problems, he has his hands full and then some. I really thought the murder's 'handicap' was very interesting. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 16, 2022I received this book for free from Bloodhound Books.
This book grabbed me from the first sentence.
We already know who the killer is and it was a thrill to get inside his head.
You almost feel sympathy for him when you learn his history.
The characters were so well written it was like I was inside one of my favorite police procedural shows.
This book definitely appears to leave room for a series.
I definitely want to read more.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 10, 2022This was a story that I could not put down with so many twists and turns that kept the reader interested. The characters are unforgettable with their uniqueness. Great read. great author. Others here have revealed the story line and this book does not disappoint. Thank you to the author, I can't wait for your next one.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 10, 2022I enjoyed this suspenseful story. This is my first story by this author and I look forward to seeing what is next for them. I found this story to be well written where the author used details to make the story come to life. I also enjoyed how the author was able to make me feel part of the story. I was pulled into the story from the start and kept engaged to the end. The twists and turns had me sitting on the edge of my seat just waiting to see what would happen next. This is a story about murder who just may never face justice. This is a fast paced story where the characters are not only relateable but also supportive. An easy story to read and entertaining. This was a hard to put down as it had me coming back for more. I really enjoyed reading this book and I highly recommend it.

3.0 out of 5 stars not his best
Serial killers in fact or fiction usually have illogocal logical reasns for their acts but the one in this book has an illogical illogical reason which is repeated too often throughout the book. I am fan of Dalanoy's books but this one, although readable, is not as good as his other books.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very enjoyable.
I've been a big fan of Delaney since his first in the Corrigan series, which I loved. Little did I know that this was a continuation of that series, I believed it was stand-alone. What a nice surprise it was. Brutal from the get-go, a genuine page turner and Jameson will be a good lead. Slightly rushed ending but on the whole, very enjoyable.
