    That is the theme. So, in essence, it is the duke’s story. I enjoyed his transformation.

    I adored Catherine. Her courage. Her sense of survival. She was extremely naive, however, but she was only 19. I wanted more of her story. She was worthy of it, and the book did end at 84%, well under 200 pages. So, it could have been done.

    The entire month or so that Catherine was a “courtesan” was completely avoided, relegated to a sentence or two. That was Catherine’s story. This is, after all, a series about blue stockings. So I felt terribly shortchanged regarding Catherine.

    There is passion and mutual regard between the MCs. It was nice, and despite the duke’s fears, this is not an overly angsty story - likely due to the short length of the book.

    I look forward to the next book.

    I enjoyed reading about Garret and Catherine, how they met to how they fell in love. Her brother was a greedy and selfish person and after his duel he fled the country taking all the money with him leaving Catherine and her sister in dire straights. She went to the Duke and propositioned him to teach her to become a courtesan. He thought her bold and brave and he knew she intrigued him. She did bring happiness back into his life. I highly recommend this book! 👍👍👍👍👍❤❤❤❤❤
