The Vanishing Patient (The Dr. Cathy Moreland Mysteries) Kindle Edition
Dr. Cathy Moreland is taken aback when an irate patient comes to her practice claiming his ailing wife has been kidnapped by one of her colleagues using a false name. Is someone impersonating a doctor, or is Adam Steer delusional?
After looking into Adam’s claims, she feels reassured that no such thing actually happened—but continues to worry that Steer is mentally unwell. A visit to his home only leads to more alarm. No one answers the door, but Cathy overhears a conversation that convinces her something sinister is going on—and that she herself may be in danger.
Cathy’s own bipolar disorder is well-managed, but she’s beginning to doubt her own sanity—and others are, too. As strange developments unfold, will she be able to make any sense of the events around her before everything spirals out of control?

- Reviewed in the United States on August 22, 2022Dr Cathy Moreland has a knack for solving mysteries, and has never shied away from danger. When a patient tells her that his wife has mysteriously vanished, she throws herself into solving the mystery.
As someone else vanishes, she finds herself in danger. Does she know who it could be? Is it another person in her medical practice, or is it someone even closer to her?
This is the seventh installment in this series, and possibly the last. I hope the author continues the story.
The author is a Doctor in real life which adds credibility to the medical mysteries. I like how she develops her characters , and the crimes are inventive and interesting. I would welcome more about Dr Cathy, and would jump on another series. I have grown fond of the characters.'Each story in the series can stand on its own, or the books could be read in series. I couldn't put this book down, and experienced a range of emotions including foreboding and a touch of fear. I really enjoyed this series.
Thank you to Bloodhound Books for providing a copy of the book to me. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 12, 2022I’ve read all of the Dr Cathy Moreland mysteries and enjoyed them all. In this, the seventh and apparently final mystery in the series, Dr Cathy confronts a puzzler, which almost causes her to doubt her sanity! A man comes to her office to complain that a previous (and now deceased) physician had responded to a call about his seriously ill wife. He had then locked the husband in the guest room and absconded with his wife, a strange tale to be sure! As she starts to investigate the claim, the husband also disappears. Dr Cathy is working long hours and overtiring herself, and also forgetting to take the medication that keeps her Bipolar at bay. Is she really imagining things or is there something sinister going on? A fascinating story and an ending I couldn’t figure out until the end. I’ll miss Dr Cathy but hopefully she’ll show up on occasion in a new series. I received a free copy of this book from the author and write this review voluntarily.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 3, 2022This book is number seven in the Cathy Moreland series and I'm sad to say it wasn't my favorite one. I have read all of the books in the series and have enjoyed all of them, however I found this one a little convoluted and at times confusing.
Again we find Cathy in the middle of a murder investigation but this time she's also dealing with personal issues that have influenced her private life and mental health.
There isn't much continuation or explanations of what is going on in her life, like in the previous books, so it sometimes left me confused as to what the author was referring to, to the point that I look back to Book 6 to figure out if I somehow missed crucial information about what was going on on Book 7.
I also wasn't sure as to how Cathy was able to figure out at the end who was the killer and what was going on, as I did in previous books.
I still liked the writing though and look forward to next installments on the series.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 3, 2022This was the first book that I had ever read by this author and I just found out it is the last in the series so I will probably start from the beginning because I did enjoy it and I want to learn about how Dr. Cathy Moreland has developed from the beginning. The plot itself is intriguing and filled with twists and turns that had me wanting to know what is going to happen next. I voluntarily reviewed an advance readers copy of this book.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 3, 2022I’m a big fan of the Cathy Morehead series (this is book 7 and the last of the series) and this book was no exception. The Vanishing Patient begins with a man reporting that his wife disappeared after an emergency doctor made a late-night house call to tend to her. The attending doctor gave his name as one of Cathy’s deceased partners and things spin out from there. Cathy has never met a mystery that she could happily ignore, so she sets out to find the woman and discover her whereabouts.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 3, 2022This book is coming August 3, 2022, the paperback comes out July 20, 2022. This is a Dr. Cathy Moreland seventh book.

They were in India for work reason. As Adam Steer was telling what happen. Adam, he says the doctor attending his wife leaves with her is name Dr. Hope. Dr Cathy Moreland was surprise, because Doctor Hope her colleague has been died for three years now. She is thinking what a crazy, weird, for from real telling. There is more than what it seems happening. This is an exciting, compelling, and great mystery to be solve with Dr, Cathy Moreland.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 7, 2022I enjoyed reading this book. I’ve always taken a interest to books that have a psychiatric and mental health take to them. With dr Cathy her self being bi-polar it definitely throws the twist into the story of the vanishing patient. Now learning this is the last book of a series I do feel as I do not know the protagonist as well as I should and I may just have to go back and read the other 6 books.

I'm a big reader but not really a writer of reviews, but I have to say that this book started well with a sluggish mid section and perhaps the worst most rushed ending I have ever read.
It felt like the initial few chapters were written by one
author, then something perhaps happened and they were forced to finish the story using anything, literally anyone to complete it,
Absolutely terrible
