Christa Watson stumbled upon quilting as a newlywed in 1994 and soon after, jumped into teaching others how to make their own complete quilts from start to finish. However, it wasn't until 2012 that she found her "voice" within the modern quilting aesthetic and embraced a movement that encourages out-of-the-box thinking with a do-it-yourself philosophy.

Christa is an award-winning quiltmaker who loves to share her passion with others through writing, designing, making and teaching. She lives in Las Vegas, Nevada, with her husband and three children who don't seem to mind living amongst a house full of fabric.

You can find Christa on social media @christaquilts or at christaquilts.com.

I recently took a class from Christa Watson and this book was required, but I am so glad I got it. It has many great quilting ideas even for me as an intermediate free motion quilter. I love the expanded ideas for walking foot quilting, very helpful.

I needed the book for a class I took with Christa at Paducah AQS Quilt Show. Great class and a great book. Suited for stationary machine quilting, though designs are appropriate for long-arm quilting too.

This was very helpful to me because I usually make small quilts and hand quilt them. This helped me do a much larger twin size quilt for my grandson, which I really did not have the time to hand quilt. Step by srep, easy to follow and the quilt was finished in plenty of time to mail out for his birthday!!

I love Christa Watson’s teaching techniques. I've watched hundreds of other YouTubers, read countless books, and watched every Craftsy and Creativebug class on quilting. Christa Watson is hands down the best. I find her easy to follow, and I don't get bored or annoyed with her. Plus, she interacts with her students on her various social media platforms. I'm so glad I finally found a sewing guru that I can learn from for many years to come. Her Craftsy class has changed my life! Thank you, Christa, for giving me the tools and confidence to make my first quilt and many more. I no longer feel defeated, and I am a happier person in general.
