He has claimed me as his mate…

The King of Amethysts. Formidable, imposing, noble. Sensual.

I know what he is, what he hides. I know the destruction his kind brings. I fear him and his power. And yet, I burn to know his kiss, to learn what it feels like to be held by him. To give into the irresistible attraction. It is a yearning that consumes me, body and soul.

But there are secrets I must keep hidden so no one else dies. Secrets that even I don’t dare delve into. The consequences are too devastating.

He says I intrigue him. I want to be with him, but I know the costs of giving into such a weakness. Nothing frightens him. Not my horrific past—or my uncertain future.

There is only passion and something deeper, something real. Something I never dared to dream might be possible.

In the latest story in the scintillating Dragon King series, Donna Grant, New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, unites a sexy, determined Dragon King and an enigmatic woman who holds him enthralled.

Donna Grant wrote another fabulous story of the Dragon Kings!!

Could there possibly be anymore jaw-dropping revelations in this story? Amazing!
Lotti has always had a lonely life and has been on her own since she was very young. She somehow makes people feel uncomfortable, but she doesn't understand why, so she keeps to herself. (We do find out why.) Alasdair is out looking for Merrill, his friend and fellow dragon king, who has been missing for a while. Lotti and Aladair meet when they both hear a baby crying in the woods. They take him to friends of Alasdair's, but again, Lotti makes the people feel uncomfortable. The dragon kings do not feel that from her.
We find out some major plot twists, new characters, and a bit more details of Zora. What you find out about Lotti and her background is mind-blowing. I wonder how all of this will affect the story going forward.
Another thing I found interesting is how the twins judged the dragon kings on decisions they made and vowed not to make the same mistakes, but found that the decisions they made may not have been the best ones either.
It was a fantastic, exciting, romantic, and just an all-around.
Amazing addition to the series. Absolutely loved it!

Good story. Lots of new plot twists and surprises I didn’t see coming. The villains have grown in number and ferocity. The wolf is at the King’s door.

First, I want to say that you will get the most enjoyment from this book if you have read the prior books in the series. But, if you haven’t, you’ll still be able to enjoy reading Dragon Arisen. Our two main characters are Alasdair, a Dragon King, and Lotti, who might or might not be human or magical. While a little slow to start, the story picks up and becomes a thrill ride for the reader. Donna Grant gives us a story to spark our curiosity and imagination. No spoilers, but readers, you can’t begin to imagine all the ways that this book will grab you and make you want the next book right away. Well written, with great characterizations, Donna puts more into this book than the previous five. And she gives us hints as to the upcoming developments that will affect not just Zora, but Earth also. This book reminds me of the earlier Dragon King books and is very welcome to those of us who’ve been reading this very extensive series. Grab this book and enjoy the rollercoaster!

Dragon Arisen is the 6th book in the Dragon King Series and I’d strongly recommend that you at least read the earlier books in this series and Dark Alpha’s Obsession (Reapers series) first - it will be important for a new reader in order for them to truly understand the last 50 pages or so of the book - and for all of the series readers who have been reading the Dark Universe for years - Donna just threw out a MAJOR plot twist (set aside a few hours and be ready to have every theory you’ve had blown to pieces).

Dragon Arisen is Alasdair (King of the Amethyst's) and Lotti’s story. Alasdair made the decision to go and try and find a missing King - Merrill. During his mission he comes across Lotti who has found a human baby that she’s unwilling to touch because of past issues when she’s touched people. Alasdair makes the decision to bring the baby to Cullen and Tamlyn (Dragon Unbound) and Lotti goes with him to make sure the baby will be safe. During their trek they’re attacked by the invisible enemy and Alasdair makes the decision to bring Lotti into Cullen and Tamlyn’s home. While there, Alasdair reveals that he’s a Dragon King (Lotti is terrified of the Dragon’s) and it becomes clear that Lotti has magic that appears to impact anyone who isn’t a Dragon King - the decision is made that they’ll go their separate ways.

Shortly after going their separate ways, Lotti comes across the Divine’s soldiers and realizes that she’s come across important information that may help Alasdair in his quest. Lotti and Alasdair reunite and realize that they’re meant to be. As they search for Merrill, we find out more about the Divine, the Beast that the Divine has held prisoner, the Crone who brought the Kings to Zora, more about Lotti’s background and her connection to the Crone and the Divine. Oh, and Donna throws in a major twist that tells us more about the Dragon King’s history (they didn’t even remember this), how humans came to earth (and Zora) that will have an impact on the Dragon Kings on both Zora and Earth and on the Reapers.

Dragon Arisen is essentially a major turning point in the Dark universe and I’m expecting that we’ll see more storylines cross as the Dragon Kings series continues. I CANNOT WAIT to read book 7 in January 2024!

I found the beginning very slow and almost didn't finish it. But about a quarter of the way through it picked up and from there was a page turner.

This is the latest book in the Dragon Kings series, and it goes above and beyond what one expects to learn.

Lotti has never belonged to any village or town. She's constantly on the move with no direction except her own way. Then a stranger enters her life and turns what she thought she knew upside down.

Alasdair is going to look for his missing brother. It's his sole mission, until he finds a woman standing over an infant. Taking the infant to the canyon, he discovers that the woman has magic.

Lotti accompanies Alasdair on his mission, only to find why she has always been alone. Alasdair connects with his missing brother for a few moments, to learn he wants to stay behind to learn all he can about the enemy.

I loved this book! It was so hard to pace myself so I didn't miss anything important. Ms. Grant has created a vast and complex world on Zora. The twists and turns this story takes you through will make you wonder if you have whiplash. With the reveals that are shown in this book, it is not recommended you read this before the others in this series. However, you won't mind reading the others first.. they are just as good.

WOW, Mind Blown, all the feels. What an exceptional story.

This was so not expected but we should all realize that the Mother of Dragons will surprise us as much as she can. I love Zora, the dragons and the intrigue. The twists and turns, secrets and what is will change everything. Make sure you are settled in your seat before you start reading this one.

WOW!!! This book will send you reeling! What a great story. Questions answered and bigger questions that need answers. Lottie and Alasdair have a beautiful love story woven in-between turmoil and side stories that just won't let you put the book down for long. This book is a must read!
