Fiddler's Ferry Kindle Edition
The Llywelyn family’s livelihood largely depends on the ferry, run by Siona Llywelyn, the kindly yet rugged head of the family.
The family is large but close knit, held together by their mother Emily—a hard-working woman made old before her time having borne seven sons, and now with child once again.
As the boys grow into young men, tensions flare in the family unit, made worse by a web of rivalries and ambitions. When a death shocks the family to its core, it will take the intervention of a special person to remind them of what they have lost.

A most enjoyable book. You really feel as if you're there,
I read this book a few years ago, and I'd lost it. Then I found it on Amazon, and it was a joy to read again. Highly recommend this book. One of my favourites.

5.0 out of 5 stars , Another excellent read.
Once more Iris Gower has produced an outstanding narrative. I am constantly amazed that now in my late seventies I am reading and enjoying a genre I would not have considered 6 to 12 months ago. She portrays many of the characters as attractive an , there is an easy pace to each volume but it is myself I am astounded with, having been a lifelong reader of historical fact and fiction, biography S.F. comic and serious as well as other genres. I cannot say that I will read other writers in this genre but Iris Gower I most certainly will and it's not because I hail from Llangyfelach.
