A small town story of one woman’s hilarious effort to save Christmas

Marianne Wallace dreads the empty nest. She loves her husband, but she’s thrived on being a mother, and nothing will stop her from having a final epic Christmas before her youngest son leaves home. But first, she’s going to cheer him onto his football state championship…

Disaster strikes when the team loses their mascot—the Trout. Is it going too far to ask her to don the costume? Of course--she’ll do anything for her children…but then her husband volunteers her to organize the church Christmas tea, and she’s ready to throw him to the elves. But what choice does a good, Proverbs 31 woman have? No problem—she rolls up her sleeves.

As football playoffs start ramping up, the Christmas tea takes a wild turn, and then…one by one her children tell her they won’t be home for Christmas.

How will Marianne save her last Christmas? And will it look anything like the Christmas she’s always wanted it to be?

An award-winning holiday classic by beloved best-selling author Susan May Warren.

Although I attended the U of Minnesota, I’m a woodsy girl at heart. Or maybe I’m an adventurer—having lived and traveled all over the world, including Siberia, Russia as a missionary for eight years. That’s why my characters seem to get into one scrape after another—they’re too much like me! I love God, my family, my country, my church, and feel privileged every day to be able to write stories.

And my 'official' bio:

This is a wonderful Christmas story about a mom reminiscing the Christmas before she was to become what people call an “empty nester”. She takes on the duty of the school mascot for the football team her son plays for after the team mascot suffers a medical emergency. Then her husband volunteers her to take on the Christmas Tea at their church. This is a fun and light hearted as well as heart warming story. I highly recommend this book.

Marianne Wallace is a loving wife and mother of five facing an empty nest. When her youngest son decides to play football his senior year, she becomes his biggest cheerleader. She also wants to make a memorable Christmas for her family, one they will never forget.

All I Want For Christmas is a reissue of The Great Christmas Bowl, a holiday novella Susan May Warren states she wrote as a gift for her family. The theme is hospitality and traditions that hopefully will be passed on. Written in the first person, this is not my favorite point of view; however, it does have a sweet ending.

I purchased a hardcover copy of this book.

Cute novella. I could relate all too well to Marianne. I loved some of the lessons she learned about the holiday season, family, and serving others.

This is a completely wonderful book! The family, church, and whole town revolve around traditions. When they are challenged, the characters react realistically and beautifully. ENJOY!
