Easy to follow instructions

JUST A QUICK note to my readers: I completed my 2022 To Do List, writing two How To books. Pastel and Colored Pencil are two of my favorite mediums, but I have had some great experiences painting with Oil, an entirely different process. And so I am writing my third How To, stylistically similar to the others in the series.

I've been an artist for a lifetime. I've had plenty of success. But I've endured challenges. This tutorial, in particular, recounts a six-week challenge Ohio's The Cleveland Institute of Art presented me in 1998. A portfolio challenge completed in Oil, indoors and outdoors, after which they judged it, and accepted me into their Fine Art program.

I did not have these steps as a beginner. I acquired them through experience and practice.

A brief word, also, about my use of the word parchment. It is an older term, albeit applicable, and was a creative choice to accommodate the title. I either paint on what most of us call canvas, or on cardboard, depending on the moment.

Creativity is an awesome gift from God. If I can assist anyone in the identification of that gift, and the painting of that image in the mind onto parchment, this book will have achieved its goal.
