Every Little Secret Kindle Edition

4.1 4.1 out of 5 stars 1,356 ratings

A woman’s search for her missing husband yields devastating revelations in this gripping psychological thriller.

Maddy Saunders’s life is unravelling. After the heartbreaking, unexpected death of five-year-old daughter Chloe, she’s trying desperately to keep her family together for other daughter, Emily. But when the police inform her that husband Max is missing, the rucksack found at the bottom of a local canal leading them to believe he has taken his own life, her grief takes a new and sharper turn.

Unable to believe that Max would abandon her and Emily, Maddy desperately searches for clues as to what has happened to her husband. But as she delves deeper into his secrets, Maddy finds a web of betrayal that forces her to re-examine everything about the life they have built together.

Maddened by grief, and forced into untangling Max’s lies, Maddy will stop at nothing to uncover the truth—even if it destroys her in the process.

Perfect for fans of K. L. Slater, Shalini Boland, and B. A. Paris.

Top reviews from the United States

I love trying out new authors and this one does not disappoint!!! From the start you are pulled into this utterly fascinating, completely compelling, train wreck story! It comes at you from 3 sides, ever so slowly pulling away to reveal raw depth of the characters. My jaw dropped on multiple occasions and oddly enough, I was rooting for the bad guy! Cannot wait to see what treasure this author writes next!

This novel keeps you engrossed from the beginning. I only gave it four stars because at the end, to me, it was a little weird. I think the police would have been more involved. I recommend this book.

I bought this when it was on sale because it had no 1 or 2 star reviews and it sounded interesting. Maybe my expectations were too high because of that, but I was somewhat disappointed. For one thing, it needs editing. Some of the grammatical mistakes made it difficult to grasp exactly who was saying or doing whatever was being described. Others were just annoying. ("Standing at the patio door, a rumble of thunder rolls its drums and lightning flashes through the cloudy sky.") I got a little tired of the story as it seemed to go on and on, but I kept going because I wanted to find out how it ended. It was okay, but I wouldn't recommend it to my friends.

A very good read, told from three different perspectives, about a complicated and stressful relationship situation. Draws you right in and hard to put down.

If you like surprise endings, you will like this book. Don't like to be a spoiler, but couldn't figure out how it was going to tie up in the end, but it did. Bittersweet.

The further I got in the story unfolding the more I felt a whole mix of emotions for everyone involved flipping from one extreme to the other with the 3 main characters. A great read that I couldn’t put down!

1.0 out of 5 stars utter dreck
Reviewed in Canada on August 27, 2020
First, this is not what I'd call a psychological thriller. Not even close. There is a 'reveal' presented very early in the story which is the set up for the entire boring dull story. Dull flat storytelling of a dull flat plot. Zero surprises, no intrigue. Very amateurish writing and overly long and repetitive. Unbelievable dialogue. A total snoozefest. Truly stunned by the high ratings by readers.

I enjoyed reading every little secret. Although I don’t usually like books that go back and forward in time. I will certainly look to read another book written by the author.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gripping read
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on May 9, 2020
Another gripping, thought provoking book by this author. Do we ever know the truth about the person we share our life with? And if not the devastating consequences of finding the truth are beyond traumatic and something no one thinks about even in their darker moments. Are the characters villains or victims? The reader decides because the answer depends on the experiences of each one.

The narrative is gripping moving form the past to the present and back again and developing the characters as it moves along by letting the reader see just a chink of light at the time. Only when we get to the end do we have the facts of the whole drama. Thus we have to keep reading, we have been drawn in. We have become part of the plot. We are for this or that character, but....

Looking forward already to reading Ruby Speechley's next book!
