About the author

I am an USA Today Best Selling Author of Historical Jewish Fiction mainly set during World War 2. My father was Romany and my mother was Jewish, When I was very young I learned about the Holocaust. I couldn't understand how something like this could happen. So, I began to research and learn more. I met with survivors. I even met with children and grandchildren of SS officers. But I still had no answers. I cannot say that I have all of the answers to all of my questions even now. But what I do know is that soon all of the survivors will be gone. Their message must be remembered, the sacrifices that they made must not be forgotten. And so I humbly and with the utmost humility I try to tell their stories. It is painful, but I must convey the darkness and horror of the time, However, I also want the world to know and celebrate the unsung heroes. Because there were many ordinary people who acted in heroic ways. I realize that writing these books is a great responsibility. I pray every day that I am able to do this correctly. I am trying to reach out and touch many people, not with the message of the horrors but with the promise of hope. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for considering my work. It is an honor that I never take lightly.
I send you many blessings, Roberta

- Reviewed in the United States on February 6, 2025I loved this book. I couldn’t put it down. The author sweeps you back to Nazi German. Where you are immediately. Immersed into the travels and travails of Anna . Then Elicia and Bernie. you quickly realize There are three girls that made a blood pact to remain as friends forever. There was one more girl that blackmailed her way into the group because she was obsessed with the most beautiful girl in the group. She had been spying on them. She finally realized her dream to be close to her idol.
Then the Nazis came.
I like how author takes you back to the girls childhood and ties it into the story . So if you haven’t read the first and second book you can read this book as a stand alone book.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 13, 2023I thoroughly enjoyed this 3 book series. This, the third in the set, was a difficult read in some ways because it is, at least in part, about the Holocaust and the hideous torment of the death camps - Ravensbruck in particular. I found it difficult to read about the atrocities in this book and yet I am certain that the reality was even worse. It was another good reminder why we, the world’s citizens, must never let the atrocities be forgotten. Why we must remain vigilant about the world’s leaders.
I am very glad to have happened upon this series. Each book was a pleasure to read. The plots are beautifully crafted and the characters are very engaging. Looking forward to more of Roberta Kagan’s books.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 3, 2025I just found your books and I must say though how difficult they are to read. I just love them. Your characters just come to life .
- Reviewed in the United States on February 6, 2025Innocence and childhood is universal, I believe. And these blood sisters were no different. But their lives changed for each of them in terrifying ways. Roberta Kagan continues to guide the readers, as always in her books, into these lives, as if the readers are there as well.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 3, 2023The only reason I read books two and three was because I bought all three at once. The story line was good but the author’s poor writing and editing detracts from the story. In book three she keeps repeating what she wrote in previous chapters as though she needed to have enough words to publish it as a novel. She rambles on and on taking forever to get to the point. May I suggest she use a good copy editor because she needs one. Too many errors-the kind I would expect from a high school student. It is a shame, because with excellent writing, this would be an awesome series.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 1, 2024I have read all of The Blood sisters series. They are heart breaking 💔 and very well written. I couldn’t put the books down. The characters almost come alive and you find yourself crying and rejoicing with them all. Definitely worth the money.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 6, 2025A good book. Of this series, I thought it was the best one. Captured and kept my interest to the end. I highly recommend this book.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 15, 2023What a lovely way to end this series. So enjoyed the mixture of good and bad. I too have a blood sister. At 75 years young we are both happy about the bind that keeps us together. After all these years when we meet we start off just where we left off years ago. Even though I have a real sister, I rarely talk or think of her. But my blood sister is always in my thoughts.

5.0 out of 5 stars A MUST READ!
It's inhumane what the Nazis did to so many people and in particular the Jews and I'm sorry but it can never be forgotten or forgiven and neither should it be! Whilst this third book in the trilogy is a work of fiction the content is true and real in a lot of ways I'm sure. Joyful in parts, upsetting in other parts, but written so well you feel like part of the story and I just couldn't put this book down. Roberta kegan is a wonderful author and whilst I came across her books by accident i'll now openly seek her other books out. A must read, but be sure to read books one and two first, before reading this third book, or you won't fully understand the background to the three Blood Sister's. Highly recommended read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent
The 3 books in the series of “The Pact” were absolutely fantastic. I felt the horror of what was being done to the Jews, as well as the warmth of friendship, love and betrayal. A must read.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sad
The end of The Blood Sisters saga. Forgiveness is something Elicia wants and needs but can Anna forgive Elicia her part in the deaths of all those she loved and lost? Frankly, Ms. Kagan did a good job painting her characters. One of the most real stories of surviving the years of Nazis and the Third Reich.
