This was such a heartwarming story. Jack and Marla, and their friends and family, found their way into my heart and kept me reading till the end. Marrying for necessity instead of love leads to more than Marla expected. As she and Jack get to know each other, they work together to create more than just a marriage of convenience. If you love stories where the characters jump off the page, where love prevails, and happy endings abound, you'll for sure love this one.

Another wonderful story from Diana Brandmeyer! I loved this story about Jack, Hattie, Marla, Effie, and Alice. The characters are so real to me and made it feel as as though they were my family too. I can't tell you the enjoyment I have had reading these wonderful stories. They are really good. The descriptions of the people and town and the actions and feelings are all so real. I highly recommend this book and the entire series. Thank you again Diana Brandmeyer for another wonderful read. I purchased this book from the authors website.

A Promise in Haste in Knob Creek is a Western Christian historical fiction by author Diana Lesire Brandmeyer. It is installment #4 of the Frontier Legacy Brides series. The setting is Montana Territory 1871.

Marla Atwell’s father had left behind a mountain of debt when he and his wife had a fatal accident. Marla had promised her mother she would take care of her sister Effie. Her mother had demanded she has the best and marries wealthy. Now, how could she pay the bills and take care of her five-year-old sister?

Should Marla consider the advertisement she got from the church advertising for a wife? Jack Green had sent the advertisement and was ready to marry sight unseen. After all, he needed a cook. However, They both suffer from loss and wonder if marriage is right for them.

I appreciated the way the author wrote about the gentle romance in this story. And that Effie was loved and included. I give A Promise in Haste in Knob Creek 5*/5*.

Marla decides to become a mail order bride after their parents die and they lose everything. She travels with her sister to marry someone she's never met. Jack doesn't really want to marry but gives in to sending an ad. When he sees that Marla has a little girl, he thinks the worst of her. Sweet story of them getting to know each other. Interesting story keeps you turning the pages!

I received this book free from the author. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

Her whole life changed in a few minutes. A death has left her in charge with no money or means to keep her home. I do like mail order bride stories and this one was so interesting from the bride's and the groom's problems. Very good story!

This is my voluntary review of a copy I received from the author.

The characters aren't complex, but they aren't dealing with the stuff we don't know about them yet. We learn of their hurts and missteps organically, as they share with each other.

They've each learned lessons from the hardships they faced in the recent past. But they've each got a lot to learn about dealing with each other.
