About the author

Kirsten Fisher is a Brooklyn, NY fiber artist focusing on fabric bowls using a technique she developed and teaches nationally. Her work evolved from her background in quilting and other handcrafts. She is the past co-President of Brooklyn Quilters Guild, where she still is a very active member.
Kirsten's work has been shown among other places at the Leventhal Map Center at the Boston Public Library, the Westchester Center for the Arts and the WAH Center in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Her fabric bowls have been featured in Art Quilting Studio magazine and The Language of Making, Virtual Voices, published by the Textile Study Group of New York.
Kirsten was born and raised in Copenhagen, Denmark , where she learned to sew and knit. In 1977 she moved to Brooklyn, NY, where she still lives with her husband, their rescue Clumber Spaniel, two cats, across from one of New York's largest dog runs, which she co-founded.
