NJ Moss worked as a ghostwriter for ten years before he turned his skills to his own work. His latest novel is The Fame Game, a twisty and twisted exploration of social media, mental illness, and what happens when obsession goes wrong.

- Reviewed in the United States on July 7, 2023Ever say anything in anger?
What would happen if you were recorded?
What would happen if the world found out?
N.J. Moss explores this idea in Ruin Her Life.
Abbie says something horrible in anger, unaware she is being recorded. The recording is released, goes viral, and soon Abbie's life has gone completely off the rails.
This story is very timely because we have all said something we regret and we've all said something we don't necessarily want the world to know.
The story explores that consequences of what you say not just from Abbie's point of view but of her family, of the person who released the audio, and others who are impacted by it.
It does make you think before you say and to be careful of what you let the world know.
This is my 2nd book by Moss and I look forward to reading more of his work!
- Reviewed in the United States on July 8, 2023For me this book isn’t the best one from N J Moss, but haven’t said that, it isn’t a bad one, the writing is very good, as with all of his books, but unfortunately the plot didn’t engage me as I hope it would.
Have you ever said something in anger that you didn’t mean to? Have you ever been recorded without you knowing it? What would happen if you get recorded saying something inappropriate? This questions are the ones the book deals with, dealing also with cancel culture, freedom of speech, the power of media and the things people do in pursuit of fame.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 23, 2023This is yet another winner from NJ Moss. These characters are so relatable, they could be you, your best friend, your partner, your kids, anyone! This novel teaches us that we have to watch what we say, no matter where we are or who we are around. It is another one of Mr. Moss's that will stick with me for a very long time! Thank you again, for writing another fabulous novel!
- Reviewed in the United States on July 7, 2023Another great story by Mr. Moss. This one pulls in so many modern communication methods and showcases some of the cons of our world becoming such a media driven world. The gamut of emotions were run as the characters carried out their various roles and there isn't any character that was liked fully at any point of the story and that worked perfectly with the way he wove the main plot with other subplots thrown in there. It was a great, well paced suspense story. I voluntarily reviewed an advance readers copy of this book.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 10, 2023This story explores things we see in the news almost every day - differences in opinion that lead to recording interactions, and the power of speech and social media. The author uses feminism as the platform, but it could very easily be replaced by any social issue where a difference of opinion quickly turns into cancellation, cruelty, and revenge. The author showed how cruel people can be when they disagree with someone else. It’s not just a difference of opinion - at least one side ends up hurt. We see characters use what they have and know to hurt others, they are intentionally and unintentionally cruel, and come to wish they’d thought before speaking.

- Reviewed in the United States on July 22, 2023I received this book for free from Bloodhound Books.
This book had me gripped as a recording goes viral and creates a domino effect.
We've all said things in anger. But this book illustrates why in this day and age we must be very careful what we say and do. You never know who's watching.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 4, 2023This book about how trying to ruin another's life sometimes doesn't go as planned takes a couple twists and turns as it follows 6 different characters and how they all intertwine. Not a blockbuster but not lackluster either.

5.0 out of 5 stars A gritty page turner, Ruin her life book by N J Moss
This book is a must read. It has twists and turns. The characters are so different and the author really gets into their minds. This is a relevant book of the times, as you see how modern technology can affect your life.
An emotional outburst by a mum to her daughters teacher is recorded by the teacher and it all spirals from there. I loved this book and is one of the many great books N J MOSS has written.

Ive read most of the books from this author and while this wouldn’t be my favourite it was still brilliant!
Great plot, and the usual dark stuff that you’d expect from the author 😉

5.0 out of 5 stars A very modern, scary tale.
I've been a fan of Moss's writing for some time so was looking forward to reading this one. I think it's probably his best to date. Scary how one foolish action can have such devastating consequences. Well written, fascinating tale.
