I began my study of the magic of plants as an inquisitive child roaming the jungles of my overgrown childhood yard, making forts for pirate treasure, mad scientist laboratories to hybridize the mint and azaleas to do my bidding and more. This grew into a love of horticulture and magic, and as an adult, I found a way to blend them both into a single life's work, helping people find the magic around them in the every day botanicals they carried in their pockets, in the bottles of essential oils that many people are already using.

I've appeared on HuffPost Live, Yahoo News, the Associated Press and Top Ten Secrets and Mysteries (Episode "Supernatural Abilities"), and many other print interviews since discovering my passion over thirty years ago. If I can bring those smiles and that passion to someone else, I've done my job.

Loved the herb features at the end of the chapters. Liked that she talked about the problems using sage and gave alternatives that grow in most yards as well as things to grow.

Im pleased to find recipes I genuinely need, I struggled to find balance and connection with society, myself, the universe. I'm on a spiritual path and this book is helpful, relatable (there are only a few recipes and most seem to be exactly what I needed right now), straight-forward (easy to read and follow) I will be checking out more books from this author. Thank you

I adore this book! Amy is so knowledgeable and offers amazing suggestions in this book. I wanted to find more options beyond white sage and palo santo... this book is it! She talks about the cultural roots of the various elements and how to use them respectfully. I was really excited to see local wild plants mentioned that I can respectfully wildcraft for use in my magickal practices. I have recommended this book to many friends interested in using sacred smoke for themselves.

Great resource for the practice of smoke baths, and some great details about how, why, and when it’s appropriate. The author has a strong and knowledgeable voice.

Blackthorn's voice and spirit is so during and motivating to read. She feels like a friend by the end of the book, and you want to have few with her for sure! I felt reinvigorated in my path and my view of incense as a sacred act, bit just another tool in ritual. Her recipes are great but really this is a book to get you in the path to making this own concoctions and giving read the confidence to try new the and think creatively. The storytelling in incense is something I'll consider more deeply in the future thanks to this book! Also, shout out to Amy for bring very transparent about ethics and spirituality, with regards to Native tribes in particular.

This book from the mind of the greatest magical worker I have ever known is another absolute masterpiece! Not only does Amy Blackthorn consistently explain things in a manner that everyone can absorb easily, but it also inspires confidence to get out there and practice the newly gained knowledge. I also LOVE how respectful she is to all cultures of the world and seeks to not only avoid treading on them, but honouring them. This book, as well as Botanical Magic, are my first “go to” when I need to reference, look up, or double check. I can’t recommend her works enough. Impeccable. Period.
