Tamed to Be Messy: A Brother's Best Friend Sweet Rom Com (Messy Love on Mango Lane) Kindle Edition
A lifeguard, his best friend’s sister and the messiest rehab of his life.
My life used to have meaning. Born with a silver spoon in my mouth that I quickly spat out, I defied my parents, dropped out of law school and became a lifeguard. What can I say? I love the surf, the sand and helping others.
But that was before the accident.
My rotator cuff is torn so badly I may have to quit the career that gives me so much joy. I’ve got a grueling rehabilitation ahead of me with no guarantee it will be successful. Good thing my physical therapist is amazing. Not only has she promised me a return to a full range of motion, she’s easy on the eyes, making the painful exercises worth it. There’s just one problem:
She’s my best friend’s kid sister.
Last time I saw her, she was an eighteen-year-old wild-child with pigtails and a wiggly puppy in her arms. Now, that naïve, independent streak has matured into bold confidence. And the way she looks at me makes it obvious she’s glad we’re getting reacquainted.
With my future on the line and us spending so much time together, I know I’ve got to keep this strictly professional. Because if her brother ever thought my treatment plan involved us becoming more than friends, I’d be the one in need of rescue.
So, what’s it going to be? My career or my heart?
Is there any way to have both?
Tamed to Be Messy is the enchanting third volume in the Messy Love on Mango Lane closed door romantic comedy series. If you like heroic book boyfriends, adorable doggos and lots of laughter, then you’ll adore Dineen Miller’s rollicking ride through choppy waters.

About the author

Dineen Miller is an Amazon bestselling & award-winning author of both fiction and nonfiction, but only recently discovered she has a sublime addiction to writing and reading romantic comedies. In addition to these, she’s been known to write romantic suspense and has dabbled with thrillers and fantasy under her pen name, Neena Roth.
Needing additional outlets for her creativity, she has designed several coloring books under her own name and her pen name, Hue Manatee Art, and has crocheted too many afghans to count. No, she does not have cats, but she is a dog-mom to two furry rescues that answer to wiggle butt and snuggle boy, and she’s married to a punny man who thinks she’s unique.

- Reviewed in the United States on May 28, 2024This book is a unique brother's best friend, childhood crush, reformed playboy, injured lifeguard, sunshiney physical therapist, and closed-door book with the bonus of an adorable dog. Any book with a dog on the cover will draw my attention, but Hannah & Nick's story drew me in. Tamed was a refreshing twist on brother's best friend. Watching Nick grow to the realization that he'd found forever love with Hannah was so very sweet. The author truly showed what a Human-Animal bond is capable of as Nick & Bandit helped each other through recovery. I loved the advice from Hannah's widower patient, "Always look for the best in each other because you'll find it."
This whole series has been enjoyable. I'm looking forward to the next one!
- Reviewed in the United States on May 30, 2024There has been a lot of stress in my life lately.
The more I read Tamed to Be Messy, the lighter I began
to feel.
Nick, Hannah and of course Bandit make quite a threesome.
Hannah has had a crush on her brother’s best friend for years.
Hannah is a physical therapist. Guess what, Nick needs therapy.
He is a life guard and injured his shoulder while saving someone.
It certainly seems Hannah likes working on his body a little too much.
Nick is feeling the same. Throw into the mix a wonderful rescued dog
named Bandit. My own troubles didn’t seem so big after reading this
fun loving book. I highly recommend Tamed to be Messy
- Reviewed in the United States on May 29, 2024This was a fun, sweet romance with lots of action. The three main characters Nick, Hannah, and a adorable dog named Bandit were so easy to relate to.
Hannah, the cute physical therapist, and Nick, the sexy lifeguard, manage to overcome all the obstacles thrown their way and still find true love.
This was a well written romance with good character development. Definitely a fun summer read. I received the Advanced Reader Copy and was not required to leave a review. This is my own opinion.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 28, 2024Full of witty banter, funny pranks, heart-warming moments, and plenty of romance - this book was sizzling HOT without the spice. The chemistry between the MMC and FMC was off the charts and the development of their relationship was beautiful. Add to that some seriously cute animals, lovable characters, and an entertaining plot ... in summary, the book was simply impossible to put down.
If you like books that make you smile, this book is 100% for you.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 29, 2024I am loving this romcom series from Dineen Miller. Sweet romances with tons of humor and a likable group of friends make these stories favorites for me. Nick and Hannah‘s romance was sweet and Bandit was adorable! Can’t wait for in this series!
I received an ARC from the Author and was not required to post positive review. All thoughts are my honest opinion. I also preordered my own copy after reading.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 30, 2024First time reading from author Dineen Miller. This is book 3 from the series Messy Love on Mango Lane but can be read as a standalone. There are crossover characters between the three books. This story focuses on Nick Lawless, law school dropout turned lifeguard and Hanna McCarthy, animal and human physical therapist.
Their story starts 6 weeks post-surgery for Nick. Nick was injured during an incident during training of jr. lifeguards. Per his doctor, his torn rotator cuff surgery was a complicated surgery and PT will be no easy feat and he would need to wait a bit before going to PT to allow for a full recovery. Hannah has recently moved back to town to start her own PT practice which is attached to her eldest brother, Liam’s pet grooming shop. Graham, Hannah’s older brother and Nick’s best friend, convinces Nick to go to see Hannah for his physical therapy to help get him back to work.
When Nick first sees Hannah, the old mental image of her carrying around a puppy as an 18-year-old is quickly replaced with grown up Hannah, he realizes she is all grown up now. Hannah, who had a crush on Nick, sees that he is like fine wine – only gets better with age.
The story goes on over the next few weeks with Hannah helping to rehabilitate Nick and get him back in top shape to get back to the job, lifeguarding, that he loves. Hannah comes up with a wonderful way to help two patients, a rescue dog and Nick, rehabilitate together.
I enjoyed the banter back and forth between Nick and Hannah. I think the author created a wonderful story with well-developed characters and good scene transitions. Overall, I enjoyed this cute little rom-com and would recommend it to others. It is a quick read at just over 200 pages.
