This is the second book in High Country Ranch series and was just as fun, romantic, and entertaining as the first book!It’s a great blend of a tender and passionate romance, and a suspenseful murder mystery. The chemistry between Frantz and Clarabelle, and the fast-paced plot with its twists and turns made for a real page turner.Willing To Wed The Rancher is a quick read, and another example of Jody’s wonderful storytelling skills and ability to create characters that come to life. I loved it!I received a copy from the author but a positive review wasn’t required.

    Seriously though, this was love at first sight at its absolute finest. Adored every second of this book and the mystery involved, the romance, and the emotional growth for both characters.

    Sooo well done. I just want to read it again for the first time so I can feel all the feels again.

    Clarabelle Oakley, the younger sister of Maverick (Book 1), has just returned to the classroom as the teacher's assistant after the death of their mother. Eric Meyer wants to make Clarabelle the mother to his two children, but she wants to marry for love.

    Franz Meyer, a professor at a prestigious university in Germany, has come to Colorado to finally make amends with his brother, Eric, after a falling out years ago. Unfortunately, upon his arrival, he learns that Eric has been murdered and his farm and children have been left to Clarabelle.

    It's love at first sight for Clarabelle and Franz but Clementine, Clarabelle's twin, also fancies herself in love with Franz. Not wanting to hurt her sister, Clarabelle is willing to sacrifice her own happiness.

    Willing To Wed The Rancher is the second book in the High Country Ranch series by Jody Hedlund. I liked how sweet and kind Clarabelle was and how Franz was always there to help her. Wrapping up the story with an appearance by Jericho Bliss from the Colorado Cowboys series was a treat. I'm looking forward to Ryder's book next.

    I thought I didn't enjoy Western romances--and then I discovered Jody Hedlund's! She is a favorite Western romance author of mine, so it was a no-brainer on whether or not I'd read Willing to Wed the Rancher.

    As urgent as some of the conflicts in were, it took a while for me to become engaged in the characters and their situations, but by the time I got to the second half, I was invested. Clarabelle had a strong character arc, the children were cute, and I was pleased to see how the situation against the villain was handled. I was expecting something much more dramatic and cliche, but it was treated more like a subplot and was not the focus of the novel.

    However, there was too much spice. No s*x, but still sleeping against and one another, drinking in the shape of each others' bodies multiple times, kissing every bit of her neck, and running hands up and down each other. The romance focused more on physical attraction than loving each others' personality traits and character. Of course, both main characters liked how the other acted towards the children, but that was about it.

    Although I'm not fangirling over this series like I was with Colorado Cowboys, I was engaged by the sneak peak at the next book and look forward to what will happen with Clementine in the book after that!

When he is murdered a few days later, she finds herself heir to his ranch, his meager fortune...and his children. She moves to the cabin & is taking care of the children when a stranger rides up,inquiring about his brothers, Eric. When he sees Clarabelle, he is mesmerized. They try to discover some reason that Eric was killed, but find no clues. Things escalate quickly when a Pinkerton shows up. The conclusion is a whirlwind of happenings. Very good read.

    Unexpected, amazing book that I read too fast because I couldn’t put it down! I’m usually not into books that are this romantic (and I do appreciate that it’s clean romance!), however I am really enjoying this series and impatiently anticipating the next book!
