A bumbling elf girl and a shapeshifting prince must rescue a kidnapped flying centaur in this humorous fantasy adventure by a New York Times–bestseller.

Shapeshifting Prince Dolph can take on almost any form he chooses but he can’t decide on whom to marry. Dolph has two fiancées: Nada Naga and Electra. While he prefers Nada to Electra, Nada has no interest in him. Meanwhie, Electra loves Dolph and if she doesn’t marry him, she’ll die.

Fortunately, a convenient catastrophe arises that requires Dolph’s immediate attention. Goblins have kidnapped young Che Centaur. Their only lead is an elflike girl named Jenny from the World of the Two Moons whose nearsighted vision has gotten her lost. With her leading the way, there’s no telling where this search for the missing centaur will go.

I love Piers Anthony books. This book is one of many in this set. He makes you use your imagination a lot through the whole book. He takes the simplest thing and turns it into something else. This book is so much fun to read. I read this book every chance I got. I couldn't wait to find out what was going to happen. I would recommend to anyone whole loves to throw themselves into the fantasy world.

This book was an absolute masterpiece!!! Finally we resolve the love triangle between Dolph, Nada and Electra and what a love story ensues!!! I usually can't stand love stories but this one is a gem... I actually cried real, salty tears at the end of this book. Piers Anthony is the master, the daddy, and the king poo-pah all rolled into one!!! Again, I have to point out that these books just keep getting better as Xanth is by now a well established series and it's world is intimately familiar territory. If you just strayed in here surfing around, do yourself a favor and buy "A Spell for Cameleon" which is the first Xanth book. This 35 book (and growing) series is one of the best set of stories ever written. I love Hemingway too but he never went to Xanth! Will you?

The story was diminished a bit because book # 12 was not available to read electronically and there were gaps in the story line.
I enjoyed the story itself, well written, and entertaining. I have stopped reading the Xanth series because all of the books
(past #11), are not available electronically and they are best enjoyed when read in sequence. Hopefully, Amazon will be
able to offer the complete series soon. I really enjoy reading them.

I really like how puns are used by the Author, "Piers Anthony". I love this series so much, I have purchased all the books of this series, as I have of, "Incarnations of Immortality". The Incarnations of Immortality" is the first book of that series, as of "Bearing an hourglass", "With a tangled skein", "Wielding a red sword", "Being a green mother. If you are into fantasy, and reading of literal puns, you should love this book.
