    I loved this book!! The plot has a little bit of everything! Bad Boy, Good Girl, Childhood Memories, Suspense and Sorrow, Small Town Gossip with plenty of Small Town Support and the list goes on and on.     This is a great story of a man working on redemption and a woman who doesn’t want to take his help but desperately needs it. His only fan is Livy, her niece. Can Gabe Mitchell become the man he wants to be and can Kat Martin forgive him for his past fight with he deceased brother. Can they build trust and let the sparks between them grow? I loved reading this book and finding out if Kat and Gabe make it.

    I had to take my time reading this book. Not because it was lacking but because I needed to let my blood pressure go down. Kay came home for a visit and that visit became permanent after her brother is shot while riding next to her. With a murder on the lose and people trying to get her to sell her ranch it was one calamity after another. Then the shocking end that really rattled the bones. Such a great story.

    As Kat and her brother were riding the fence of their Montana ranch, Ben was asking her to spend the winter because there was too much work for him to manage alone. Just then a shot rang out, Kat looked around and saw Ben was bleeding fast. As she was calling 911 and stripping the saddle off her horse to be able to put Ben on it since his horse had been scared off, an old pickup was coming down the road. Relief turned to fear when she saw that it was Gabe who had bullied her in high school and put Ben in the hospital in a fistfight right before he joined the Marines. Her first instinct was to accuse him of shooting her brother. He denied it, took off his flannel, folded it into a pad, and had her hold it in place. The EMTs put him on a board and rushed him to the hospital. Gabe followed with Kat as she messaged her cousin, Owen, to bring Ben's daughter to the hospital. By the time Livy got there, Ben was pronounced dead!

    This was an excellent read as Gabe stays with the girls as Kate suffers other 'accidents' and tries to decide if Gabe is a monster or reformed into her protector. Recommended read.

    Another great story in this series. Greed played a big role in this book and the lengths they went to get what they wanted were amazing. Also the person behind it was a surprise but it all worked in the end
