Review

“Dr. Weiss's Anxiety Relief Book for Kids explains common worries and fears in a kid-friendly way. The activities provided give elementary and preteen kids practical ways to apply the skills they are learning on their own. This is a book that will help kids and parents alike navigate those worry thoughts while learning effective strategies for gaining control of those out of control thoughts.” —Margaret R. Mauzé, PhD, ABPP, board certified pediatric psychologist, www.thewhatifwonder.com

“Dr. Weiss has done a beautiful job creating a fantastic workbook that incorporates evidence-based treatments for treating anxiety in kids while also adding in some excellent and important psychoeducation by use of relatable stories and information. This workbook has an abundance of tools a parent and child would need to work through anxiety in a very streamlined fashion. As an anxiety specialist myself, I highly recommend this interactive workbook for kids who are struggling with anxiety and for parents who want specific tools to support their child in a very approachable way.”

Handle and treat fear properly
The Anxiety Relief book for kids book lets parents and kid both understand that fear, anxiety and stress are all normal at the first. This book uses some questions to guide and understand the source of kid’s fear, anxiety and stress, summarizes some conclusions and ways to relieve these tensions and pressures. Step by step, let the parent or kid perform a kind of psychotherapy. I personally think it is a good book for anxious kids or parents.Book /Cover/Printing: 5starsContentFowledge: 5starsEasy to read: 5 stars

This book was perfect to help my 10 year old daughter at home when she was struggling with anxiety. We wanted to try a self help book before signing her up for therapy. The book is definitely challenging at first since your child is required to think about what causes them anxiety and they often relive stressful moments. However, if you give the book time, the activities midway though help your child cope with their anxiety and use tools to reduce their anxious feelings. Since completing the book, I can happily say, anxiety is no longer a problem for my daughter as she is able to identify moments and feelings that have potential to start the anxiety cycle, but has a new self awareness and skills to prevent the thoughts from getting worse.

Can't say enough good things about this book. Don't let the illustrations fool you. This book is deep and insightful and written so that even young kids can grasp how anxiety works in their brains and bodies. I learned a lot too so I would recommend it for adults as well. I saw immediate help for my daughter with the first chapter.
