This is just an amazing product. I have at least 8 of these for all of my equipment. I do plan on buying more when that time comes. This product does not slip, holds tight, and a key feature that I found out about recently is that the locking knob can slide out and rotated so that if your camera is in the way or you just cant rotate it all the way, this little key feature will help you in small spaces wherever you mount the base.

Using the same camera across multiple devices and stands can be a lot of work. Having a consistent quick release makes the work so much easier. For this reason, I have purchased at least three of these over the last few months.

While the brand Neewer may give an impression of amateur, or cheap equipment, this item is anything but that. This item is typically hidden from view when in use, and is strong and durable.

The first few times using this, I found it somewhat finicky, but after several assemblies/disassembles it has become less so.

Made of aluminum, it is durable, and strong. This easily attaches to other items via 1/4-20 screws.

What I really like about this product, aside from the durability and compatibility, is the fact that it is affordable. You can buy numerous for less than the price of other, higher-end brands that do the exact same thing.

If you move your rig between several tripods, or other mounts, do yourself a favor and buy one of these for each. It will save you countless hours, and thereby several hundreds of dollars.

Subjects outside don't stay still, and the difference between getting a so-so image and a great one is having the best long lens mounted on your tripod. Fumbling at that point is very painful.

I have since switched over to a better tripod system, so this plate has been moved onto my Glidecam gimbal.

Its build quality is good and its design functions well for its purpose. At first, I was worried about the locking lever being too long and getting on the way by hitting the camera bottom as commented by a few reviewers, but it turned out fine as the lever locks by turning downward instead of upward. So, all is good.

Ich habe den Adapter inklusive Wechselplatte aus der Not heraus bestellt, da ich für einen Video-Dreh eine Aktion-Cam (Panasonic HC-X1000, - und nein, eine Go-Pro ist keine Aktion-Cam) an der Montageplatte eines Krans befestigen musste und Mantrotto nicht schnell genug geliefert hätte.

Die Platte ist mit Mantrotto 501 kompatibel und die Kombi aus Adapter und Platte macht einen grundsoliden Eindruck.
Die Befestigung mit 4 Schrauben auf der Motageplatte war problemlos. Ein testweises Anbringen des Adapters am PKW-Ausleger machte einen guten und stabilen Eindruck.

Unsere Leichtgewichte, die Aktion-Cam HC-X1000, die HC-X1e, aber auch unsere Brummer RED Helium und Sony FS7 hatten sicheren Halt.
Einzig die Alexa LT konnte ich nicht testen, weil a) grad im Einsatz, b) keine Zeit und c) keine Lust.

Eine Anmerkung zu einigen Kritikpunkten in verschiedenen Rezensionen hier:

Ich persönlich bin froh, dass die Montageschrauben, mit denen die Kamera an der Wechselplatte befestigt wird, keine Flügelchen oder Handles haben. Ich, ganz persönlich, bevorzuge immer einen Schraubendreher. Wir haben welche von Manfrotto immer am Mann.
ABER: Ich kann sehr gut nachvollziehen, dass dies gewünscht wird, vor allem, wenn man mit Leichtgewichten unter 5kg arbeitet.

Eine weitere Anmerkung war, dass die Feststellschraube für das Festspannen unter Umständen an die Kamera stößt und so nicht richtig verriegelt.

Nun, die oben genannte Adapter-/Wechselplatten-Kombi ist bei vielen Herstellern absolut, exakt gleich, was zur Schlußfolgerung führt, dass Neewer, Cayer, Andoer und die vielen anderen dieses Teil über den gleichen Hersteller beziehen, sich ein Patent teilen oder eine Zuliefervereinbarung haben.

Was sie darüber hinaus gemeinsam haben, ist, dass es gelungene Manfrotto-Klone sind. Und geklont wurde auch die Möglichkeit, die Feststellschraube durch Ziehen vom Adapter weg, ähnlich einer Nuss im Ratschkasten, ein oder zwei Positionen zurückzudrehen, sodass eine Berührung mit dem Kameragehäuse eigentlich nicht sein kann.

An Neewer:
Vielleicht wäre es eine Überlegung wert, dem Paket jeweils einen Satz Schrauben mit Flügeln zum Hand-Anziehen und einen Satz ohne solche beizufügen.

Ich persönlich bin begeistert und würde zumindest für die Kameras unter 6-8kg durchaus weitere dieser Adapter mit Platte anschaffen, sobald wieder Bedarf ist.
