This item was returned because when I tried it, it did not perform as the built in stapleless stapler in the copier at work; that "staple" is about 3/4 inch and about 1 inch from the corner or edge of the papers. This product produced a very small staple, maybe 1/4 inch and only about 1/4 inch into the corner of the papers. It did not seem secure enough to hold five sheets of paper together. Amazon did post that this stapler had been returned, but I liked the idea of no staples, so I took a chance, thinking other people did not know how to properly use the staple. Beware!

I think it’s important to note how close the crinkle is to the edge of the paper. I wanted to test the strength of the “staple” and found that they can hold a small paper and my whole jornal in the air: using 6, then 3 “stables.” Thought this was worth sharing and may answer someone’s question as to the strength.

I was surprised that the small area that is crunched together really holds papers together so well. I have found that four layers of papers is the maximum number of layers that the stapler will hold together. I use this in my office and for some paper crafting. The weight of the stapler is substantial which makes me think this is well made. The crunched (paperless staple) area is very close to the edge of the paper 1/8 inch or 2-3 mm. I wish it 'stapled' deeper into the paper - that is why I did a 4 star rating. I also wish the opening depth to slid in paper to be stapled was larger. Overall, it works great for my needs.

I LOVE stapleless staplers and own several. This is my fifth; I have not purchased this brand before. I am a teacher and I hate staples. I like buying different models, usually Japanese, because you get different stapling styles. This one is “just okay” — the place you slide papers in is VERY small and it is hard to tell if your papers stapled; there’s no audible “click” or any type of noise unlike the ones that punch a hole. Feeding paper into the staple is a little awkward because of the narrow “mouth.” The grip is also awkward compared to other models because of the direction of the handle. The width of the crimp staple is VERY small. The stapler is also physically heavier than other models. The PLUS brand punch stapleless stapler can take the same amount of paper (5 sheets) with better security with a $1-2 price difference; that one is lighter and feels more “grab-and-go” for a work bag. I would not purchase this crimping model again when there are better stapleless alternatives, but I do enjoy having it in my collection just to showcase the different innovative ways you can put two pieces of paper together!

I like this staple-free stapler for what it is. I read the reviews prior to purchasing, so I was not disappointed with my purchase. It crimps very close to the edge so I compensate by adding additional crimps at the top and side to make a small corner. I like how it keeps pages flat when stacked versus the extra bulk staples add. The extra crimps hold well and it does not punch holes in the papers. It would be nice if it didn't crimp so close to the edge, but I read the reviews and I expected this when it arrived. I found that it works best when used flat on a desk instead of like a handheld stapler. It is small yet feels well made. I would recommend this item and purchase again.

Before getting this stapler, I had the more common staple-less stapler that makes the notch and loops itself into a hole. I didn't love how it makes a big hole in the paper, but it was easy to use and secure. I got this stapler since it woudln't make holes, but it's much more difficult to use. You have to make sure you jam the pages allllll the way back otherwise the "staple" won't grip all the pages. The packaging also says there's a 5 page limit, which is totally true. Anything over 5 pages will end up ripping and leaving a gouge in the papers. Also, if the paper you're stapling isn't basic printer paper, it might not even stay.

Overall pretty disappointed in this product. It barely does the job it was created to do. It's so limited in its use that I don't think I'll ever use it many times before tossing it.
