About the author
Fiona Grey wanders through stories at https://fionagreywrites.com with an amazing husband and Writing Cat. After years of technical writing and editing, her creative brain escaped into the wild, likely as a consequence of severe overeducation. She enjoys thinking nonlinearly and introversion. Other people claim this is “weird,” which is unsubstantiated.

The story flows well, the plot interesting and the plot twist mostly believable. When all else fails, explain it away with magic! The mix of elemental and faerie magic gets all twisty and wierd just like genetics and the stories that follow are sure to be in the same vein.
But honestly, there's NO way a stick in the mud blowhard like Dr Lyr would be the dean of a college that is known for a folklore convention. His role in the story was the only truly unbelievable piece. 🤨
