Cirque du Fear (Brady Paranormal Investigations Book 4) Kindle Edition

4.6 4.6 out of 5 stars 152 ratings

Nobody ever said a clown is a girl’s best friend.

Especially when it comes to Meredith and her sister, Jess. But even though Meredith doesn't think this case will be any easier than the others they've investigated recently, Russ convinces her that maybe, just maybe, this time they'll get the break they deserve. Sure, the clowns are creepy, but they're not paranormal. This should be an open and shut case. The living always leaves something behind, the dead tends to be a little trickier.

Except these aren't your average circus clowns, and even though they've been sighted around the university, they're definitely not living the college life. Not at all. These clowns aren't messing around, and they’re not about to let anything, or anyone, get in their way. Especially an intrepid group of paranormal investigators and their pint-sized canine companion.

Harper Crowley is a cozy mystery author who hails from the frigid tundra of northern Michigan. One time, she went to a pet psychic who told her her dog could see ghosts and she had one attached to her. She refused to pay the psychic an extra fifty bucks to get rid of the ghost, thus starting her obsession with the paranormal and shining the light on things that go bump in the night.

Ok, I think this is a really great off-the-wall mystery with all kinds of danger and twists but unlike the others I don't see any (even small) doubt that this isn't paranormal. It's creepy but from the beginning it can't be other than a bunch of 'someones' doing something underhanded and evil. I can't wait for the next book (which I will pre-purchase as soon as available) but there's no paranormal investigating here.

I like this storyline. Young sisters and friends running internet show geared to solving paranormal mysteries makes changing locations and situations very believable. The conversations.are natural and the plot moves at a good pace. There are enough twists and action that makes it hard to put down. Can't wait for the next installment!

Solving the mystery puts the team in peril, but they figure out what’s going on just in time. Creepy clowns, that the police disregard, could be up to more than they think!

Quite a few misplaced words in this series, but it really is a good plot line. With a few corrections and proofreading I think this author will be great someday. I recommend this author.

West Chester, North Carolina has had numerous sightings of clowns at night. So the paranormal investigation team of Brady Paranormal Investigations, Meredith, Jess and Russ and their dog Bear, were given a call to come and investigate. This is a departure from their paranormal investigations but still very creepy. They begin their investigation and when they actually see a clown they find out that police everywhere are the same so like usual they are on their own.

This was a great cozy mystery filled with interesting characters and a sinister, creepy mystery. The characters are very well developed, colourful, funny and with distinct personalities. The storyline is easy to read and filled with creative twists, heart stopping surprises, and great action scenes, all of which keep you glued to the story until the end. This book gave the team a chance to work more on their relationships and focus on what they want in terms of their on-line web sight. I find clowns eerie and several times I got chills, what could be better. I thought the action scenes were particularly well crafted. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more about this interesting team.

Terrific. A plot that starts with sightings of clowns in a small town. With the police poo pooing the fact, one of the residents reaches out to the team to ask them to investigate. Wonderful mix of characters and her sister seems to be maturing with every book.
Their arrival in the small town leads them to two young women who have both seen the clowns. However the police remain uninterested even when one clown stalks her and produces a knife. Is this part of a fraternity thing or is this more sinister. As with the unexplained disappearance years ago. An abandoned house, threats, kidnapping and attempted murder are all mixed into a read that has an evil mastermind behind a plot to build his own version of reality. Will they find the girls? Will the mastermind and his minions be stopped?
