This interview book is a must!

This interview book is a must!
Hi! My MBA program gifted me the kindle version of this book to prepare for job/internship interviews. This book is well-written and gives you all the types of behavioral questions you may get asked by interviewers. This book walks you through the S.T.A.R and P.E.N frameworks, which are great to use when answering behavioral questions. What differentiates this book from other interview books are the rich and diverse examples of answers to questions. Also, Richard Blazevich has been a PepsiCo recruiter for a long time, so if you are trying to get your dream job at PepsiCo or any other company, use this book to prepare for your interview. This book gives you the types of answers recruiters are looking for in interviews. Use this book as a reference to write your answers and practice. I guarantee you that you’ll stand out from most candidates. Recruiters love when candidates use the frameworks found in this book. Finally, this book will give you the confidence you need to have a killer interview. I am currently applying to internships, and using this book to prepare my answers gives me peace of mind and confidence.

One should always keep their resumes updated.. and an eye on what else is out there. It's important to stick with a job for at least a few years. But, it's also important that "the job" doesn't feel like a job. If you do what you love.. and get paid to do it.. you've actually won the game! For this reason.. I occasionally will read business HR books.. just to stay on top of my game. Anyone can be replaced. So, be ahead of the game.. by staying fresh and forward thinking.

This book.. HOLY MACKERELLY!!! I had not realized that college had NOT prepared me for interviewing and getting a position. This book can be used on a daily basis in many areas. Not just job interviews. This novel prepares you for most anything that comes at you in the world of business. I have highlighted so many passages.. that when I make them public on Goodreads.. you'll basically get to see the entire book! lol.

I'm beyond impressed! The author gives great examples and answers. I plan on looking to see what else he has written! He's the best dang business writer I've seen in three decades. NO KIDDING!!

I picked up this book for my Daughter who is entering the work force after completing her Degree. I find the PEN method of answering interview questions a quick and easy method to study and master for all those who are looking to enter the workforce or change jobs. Very good tips and techniques for all levels of the work force. I wish I had this easy to follow guide earlier in my career.

The author lays out the questions in an easy to read format for any type of profession. This book was extremely helpful when I was preparing for behavioral interviews. Having been in the corporate environment for over 8 years, I thought I knew everything about interviewing. Clearly not! A MUST READ for anyone who is looking to set themselves a part from the rest of the candidates.

Expected more comprehensive examples but like the methods formulating respinses. I felt that the examples used didn't cater for my profession

I purchased this book not for use as an interviewee, but an interviewer. I wanted to learn better ways to meet with potential employees and assess their potential. I learned that, as well as seeing the positive, thoughtful answers that can be a benefit to any business interaction, as well as personal interactions. From that standpoint, it's an excellent, effective book.

That said, if I interviewed someone and all of their answers were this polished, they would seem almost too perfect for the job. This would leave me wondering where and when the fatal flaw would appear, and actually hesitate to hire them over someone with strong, but not 100% perfect answers. As with all of life, balance is key.

Covered very good questions. Liked the way answers were suggested. Each questions have 2 or 3 answers. Also it covers many different job types.

In this book you will learn how to become part of the top 10% of top interview candidates, which questions are asked during job interviews, and how to prepare to answer those questions.

I found this a very interesting read. Well written and easy to follow.

2.0 out of 5 stars Just an ok book

I am seriously surprised by these kinds of books which are mediocre but still have good ratings. This book is as mediocre as anything can be. The author talks about not talking much about your personal life when asked about "Tell me about yourself"-Is that even something he should stress upon? Isn't that obvious that it is a job interview and you have talk about your professional career? Maybe this book has a certain audience but it is not for all levels. Disappointed
