It's a bold title: The Ultimate Proof of Creation. But is there such a thing? There are many books that contain seemingly powerful arguments for biblical creation. But is there an ultimate proof of creation?

There is an argument for creation that is powerful, conclusive, and has no true rebuttal. As such, it is an irrefutable argument-an "ultimate proof" of the Christian worldview biblical creation. Master the method outlined in the following chapters, and you will be able to defend Christianity against all opposition.

  • Learn how to apply the ultimate proof in dialogues with evolutionists, how to spot logical fallacies, and biblical examples of defending the faith
  • Discover the nature of scientific evidence and its proper role in the origins debate
  • An exceptional book for pastors, ministry leaders, seminary attendees, and students of religion and philosophy

This book is a complete guide to defending the Christian faith, emphasizing the defense of the Genesis account of creation, built on techniques that have been developed over many years and presentations. They are not difficult to apply when you learn how to do it properly.

Ready to move beyond the circular arguments? It is time to get to the real heart of the issue and rationally resolve the origins debate. It is time to discover The Ultimate Proof of Creation.

Review

"You will never think the same way again after reading this masterful book - and you will never dialogue with non-believers in the same way. You will gain a confidence in your faith that you probably have never experienced, and you will become much more emboldened in your Christian faith." --Ken Ham, President/CEO of Answers in Genesis, Creation Museum, Ark Encounter

Best of the best- rejoices all but those who choose to value irrational worldviews over truth!
A favorite still, after multiple repeat readings (required to really absorb to the point of reader readiness obviously intended)! This work rejoices the believing heart to know that, as it is written (Romans 1.19), God has indeed shown (what may be known of Him) to us.Enables those whose worldview doesn't hold water to understand exactly why, and coaches methodology whereby the skilled reader can lead others to self-identify their own point(s) of irrationality by "internal audit."Written with stunning clarity; all efforts to discredit Dr. Lisle's waterproof logic invariably reveal failure to absorb what he has so carefully written. Also in best of the best class: Dr. Lisle's "Taking Back Astronomy," a 128 page coffee table quality hardback.

** Review Edited after some review comments pointed out unclear parts, as well as my having read the book through again. **

I'm am a deep thinker, and I don't accept something simply because a teacher, professor, or someone else with a degree tells me it is so. I grew up in church, knew the Christian side of things, and chose to reject that faith as a young adult. Now I have lived both sides of the fence and since returned to the faith, albeit with a far different perspective.

That being said, I found this book intriguing. Some reviewers say that this book has terribly flawed reasoning. Au contraire. To my chagrin, I found the logic within to be rather solid. After reading this book, I played devil's advocate with some of my friends, taking the author's side for the moment, trying to get feedback from my peers. We were all pretty vicious about it, because I didn't like this book's arguments any more than they did. As an academic and all-around deep thinker with a knack for arguing, I'm pretty skilled at supporting whatever it is I wish to support. But while using his basis for logic and reasoning, my friends could not maintain a logically consistent rebuttal to any of the points made. They could make rebuttals, but there was always one frustratingly persistent flaw or inconsistency in the rebuttals we came up with.

Every belief system is built upon something that we trust is true, even without proof: an axiom, a foundation of sorts. Both sides of the debate have their own respective axioms, this cannot be denied. The only way we could rebut any of the arguments was if we moved his arguments away from his foundational belief (axiom), at which point we could easily strike them down, just like others attempt to do in their reviews here. But when we moved his arguments away from his foundation, we essentially set up a straw man, rather than fighting his real argument as-is. We simply had a semblance of his real argument, divorced from his foundation, which was then silly and easy to refute. But defeating a straw man is really no victory at all, and we weren't satisfied. Some people are happy to beat up a straw man and think they have victory, but I'm not that vain. I'm not happy unless the victory is real.

When it comes down to it, I could not escape the fact that his logical arguments (when built upon his axiom) are sound and annoyingly hard to overcome. Divorce it from his foundation, and the logic is truly flawed and easy to knock over, just like other reviewers have done here (in fact, the author even tells us that this would be the case); but if you divorce it from his foundation, then you're not really challenging his real argument anymore, just your own modified version of his argument (aka: a straw man).

I have since returned to the faith and started challenging others one-on-one to refute the arguments in this book, still looking for a solid refutation. I say one-on-one, because I want to make sure they leave his arguments intact rather than modifying them for ease just like I tried to do (and like reviewers here are doing). All the way up to doctorate students that I've sparred with, no one else has been able to remain consistent in their logic, and one frustrated biology student finally resorted to telling me that even the laws of logic change. Hmmm.

I do not fully support/like the ministry behind it or the author for that matter. But I don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. So like I said, I at least found this book intriguing.

Jason Lisle. The Ultimate Proof of Creation: Resolving the Origins Debate. Green Forest, AK: Master Books, September 15th 2009. 254 pp.
5 out of 5
This book was very helpful in terms of learning Presuppositional Apologetics. The author Jason Lisle is an astrophysicist who have over the years written and taught a lot on Christian apologetics and creation. He has done the church a great service writing this book. How good is this book? Before when people ask me for a recommended book on Presuppositional apologetics I recommended Greg Bahnsen’s book Always Ready. I still recommend Greg Bahnsen’s work but now I feel I want to recommend this book by Dr. Lisle first since the author has done a good job breaking it down as simple and organized as possible.
This book consists of ten chapters and three appendices. After a foreword by Ken Ham from Answers in Genesis and an introduction by the author chapter one looks at the nature of evidence while chapter two discusses resolving the origin debate. Chapter three gives illustrations of the ultimate proof, chapter four on reasoning with the critics and chapter five on the procedure of defending the faith. The book presents us Presuppositional apologetics as taught by Cornelius Van Til and Greg Bahnsen. I appreciated the author using Scripture and sound theology to shape one’s apologetic methodology. Sometimes people think Presuppositional apologetics is against evidence in of itself but that is not true. Chapter six is helpful since it talks about the place of evidence in Christian apologetics. Chapters seven and eight looks at logical fallacies and chapter nine “closes the loopholes” with putting it altogether while chapter ten looks at apologetics in the Bible. After a brief conclusion the book has three appendices with the first one on hermeneutics of how to read the Bible and the final two appendixes are examples of how to answer the critics.
I really enjoyed how Dr. Lisle laid out the book. I also thought the illustration was very helpful throughout the book especially during moments when it helps makes things more concrete since some of principles discussed can be quite abstract. The content of the book is solid and the author lays things out in an organized and clear manner. Having the examples of responses in the appendices was very helpful for readers to see it in action.
As a constructive criticism I wonder if chapter ten on “Apologetics in the Bible” might have been better as the first chapter in the book instead of towards the end. Also I wished the book had discussion questions for the end of each chapter; but you can find a discussion guide on the blog Veritas Domain.
Overall a good book and one that I used for discipling guys in apologetics with my church. I recommend it and I have also brought this book for others to learn about the subject of Presuppositional apologetics and how to refute things at the level of worldviews. I give this a 5 out of 5.

A must read for anyone who has not considered the nature of science or the necessity of God and His revelation for a coherent universe and further, understanding of it. Took me a while to complete as I had the Kindle version but I thoroughly enjoyed reading and taking time to think through certain concepts on my own.

Keep up the good work Dr Lisle!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Ultimate Proof of Creation refuting the greatest Hoax on Earth
Reviewed in Germany on February 2, 2013
I'm so glad that somebody resolved the origin's debate. The evolution theory which is permeating our society is the dumbest and most dangerous religion in the history of planet earth. And I want to take this opportunity here for all of you out there, who believe in evolution maybe because you believe that there is no God, or people who have combined their Christian faith with the so called "evidence" for evolution, because there is absolutely no evidence whatsoever that proves evolution, or people who have been told that there is no purpose in life, and that we as humans are just the outcome of "billions of years of monkey development".

Now the first thing that I want to say is, lucky for me, I grew up in a Christian parent house, but also I got confronted in school with the evolutionary teaching and I have believed in this for 11 years. With believed I don't mean accepted. I have never officially declared myself to be an evolutionist, but what I mean with that is, that I have had a very superficial belief in it. I have believed since I was young and could think, that God created everything ad the Bible tells us. I have never questioned that. But I have also believed that the earth is billions of years old. Back then when I was in school, the "official" age was 20 billion years. then it shrunk to 14.59, and then as of today somehow and unexplainable, the earth has been made young again. Today the age is 4.59 billion years. And scientist can say this with a great assurance. That is one of the greatest paradoxes in this theory and religion.

Watch the Creation Seminar on YouTube hold by Dr. Kent Hovind to hear more about this.

It was not until Spring 2011 that I have finally come to Young Earth Creationism which is the belief that the earth is 6000 years old and so is the entire universe.

First of all I want to talk about that what I have written above. Evolution itself is a very tricky word and has to be defined first, otherwise you are tapping into logical fallacies and then it can be very difficult to find the way out of it again.

There are 6 meanings to this words, from which only one is actually scientific. If the schools today say that the other parts of evolutions do not count anymore as such I want to know why, because this is exactly what is being taught in our schools, and I should know since I have also been is school.

1. Cosmic Evolution: the origin of time, space and matter (the Big-Bang)

2. Stellar and Planetary Evolution: The origin of the stars and galaxies

3. Chemical Evolution: The origin of the Chemical elements

4. Organic Evolution: The origin of Life

5. Macro Evolution: The changing from an animal into a different kind of animal

6. Micro Evolution: Variations within a kind.

Now these first 5 steps of evolution are purely religious, because a religion by definition is defined by a set of belief. So there you have it. You have to believe in all 5 steps in order to make evolution happen.

Christianity and Young Earth Creationism are no Religions. Christianity is a movement and Young Earth Creationism is a belief within the Christian Faith, based on proven scientific evidence.

Let's examine them real quick. I want to say from the beginning that I'm not a scientist, physician, chemist or whatsoever. I'm a student of theology. But I understand enough natural science to refute these steps.

The first point is the greatest paradox in 6000 years of the history of planet earth. Honest question, how can, if, like even astronomers say in the beginning was nothing, exactly that explode ? Have you ever given this some serious thought ? How can nothing "explode" and create "something" ? This violates the first law of thermodynamics which tells us "Matter cannot be created or destroyed". So if that is the case then how did get world get here ?

There are only two choices (1) Somebody has made this world as the Bible teaches, or (2) the World has made itself. There is no other choice. Now I know that physicians always try to make matter eternal. First of all you would have to be very careful when you hear this statement.

If matter was eternal, then it prerequires a creator who made it. Because otherwise it again violates the law. Matter cannot create itself or be eternal. You can make a simple test to figure out that this is correct and absolutely irrefutable.

Suppose you buy all the compartments that you need for a computer. Lay them before you on a table and wait until the matter combines itself to a computer. You will notice something very interesting. It won't happen. Also not in a billion years.

Or since I have said matter cannot create itself, take all the things that you have in your room out of it. Now you have an empty room. You can now again wait until the nothing creates you a bed, TV and whatever you might have. Same as above, it won't happen.

The first law of thermodynamics is the ultimate proof of creation. If there is no God, then matter could have never come into its existence. The only thing that we can do is change it into different things, but we cannot create it. It think even an atheist will admit that this is true if he thinks serious about this.

The next point is, if evolution is true, that is, if all the 5 points of the Religion would be correct, then I have a question about ethic. How do we tell right from wrong if evolution is true if there is no ultimate standard on which we can judge things upon and make them valid or wrong ? There simply is no way to do it. You would have to rely on what the majority beliefs and whoever. But who says that the majority or this special someone is correct, and more importantly upon which basis does he decide whether or not it is right or wrong ? Give this some serious thought.

Now I will bring the Bible into this. The Bible tells us in Genesis 1:1 "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth". So the atheist could not rightfully argue, okay if you say that I'm wrong and you are right then tell me one thing. Where did God come from? This question is totally fair.

In John 5:26 Jesus told the Pharisees "For just as the Father has Life in himself, even so he gave the son also to have life in himself." What we have here is an ontological standpoint. Ontology is the study of beings and of things which are.

So the question where God came from can simply be answered with he always there. His nonexistence is impossible. And remember, God is 3 in 1, despite of what Jehovah's Witnesses (which are a Religion with the Christian faith) and the other World Religions teach. They and the other Religions on this planet need the Gospel just like everybody else.

If God ceases to exist, then this universe ceases to exist. The universe has the ontological standpoint that it exists because God exists. There simply is no argument that can possibly refute that. The first philosopher and Theologian Augustine of the early church was the first who came up not only with the Trinity but also with the Christian Doctrine of Creation Ex Nihilo (Created out of nothing).

In Introduction to Philosophy by Ronald H. Nash (PhD) P. 147 he says the following: Augustine taught that when the Christian God created the world, he created it ex nihilo. That should not be understood to mean that "nothing" was something" from which God made the world. It means that before God created, there was nothing else except God. God did not make the World out of preexisting stuff.

And that is exactly how we come back to the first law of thermodynamics. If matter cannot create itself which it cannot, and have no life in itself, then it could also not have been eternal at a time when there was no time. Because eternity requires a creator.

Augustine even gave the best answer to those back then who asked him what God did before the Creation to which I absolutely agree. Augustine says that God was doing nothing before Creation. His point is that the creation was the first things that God did. The reason is simple: before God created, there was no time. God created not only the world but also time. Therefore, since time began when the world began, there was no time before creation. Hence, it makes no sense to ask what God was doing before there was time.

So with simple things I have refuted the worldview. Now to those who believe that God used evolution. God did never use any evolution. A God who would have needed that is corrupt, wasteful and deceitful. Not a God that I want to worship and certainly not a God who is worthy of any prayers. Genesis clearly tells us how everything came into its existence. It was by the word of God, and not by billions of years.

The Bible is the Word of God (2. Timothy 3:16-17), and is inspired, infallible and inerrant. If the book of Genesis or any other book collapses, then the whole Bible collapses and Christianity with it. But worse, it would mean that God lied to us. But since God cannot contradict himself and lie to us because he is the truth (John 14:6; Titus 1:2; Hebrews 6:13) his word is the absolute truth, trustworthy and ultimate standard upon all things are judged.

Also this so called gap theory in Old Earth Creationism is not true. The whole Bible needs to be interpreted literally unless otherwise required. Jesus' statement in John 5:25 clearly indicates that Moses was a real historical person. And in John 1:1 and Colosians 1:16, we have Jesus him (Jesus) as the creator of all things (Time, Space and Matter). So was Jesus lying when he said that ? Did he not understand modern science ? Or was he right ? Since Jesus is the creator, I bet he knows how old the earth is.

Now everybody could ask now, okay but how do you get approximately 6000 years for the creation ? Fair question, simple answer. If you count all the dates in Bible together you come this age. This not made up by theologians, the Bible teaches it. I think God did it this way to test us as humans if we fully trust him as the one who is able to crate things and perform miracles.

Also a fair question that people have is, what is you best evidence for God? Then I always say okay, suppose you walk in the forest and you see a piece of paper hanging on a tree. Your conclusion would be, that there was somebody who made this paper, and somebody who put it on the tree. Or you see a wooden house in the forest. You would still conclude that this house was made by somebody, namely the carpenter. And so it is with God. Paul tells us in Romans 1:20 that God has made himself visible through his creation. That is his eternal power and mightiness, divine nature and invisible attributes. And Jesus told us many times in the NT, and Paul in Colossians 1:15 picks it up again. Jesus is God almighty in the flesh. He is the image of the invisible God. In short, I don't have to see the creator to believe in him. For me as a Christian the creation tells everything.

And least I want to talk about the human life itself and the purpose of life. I'm not diving into the other steps of evolution too much, just so much, the Big-Bang violates the first law of thermodynamics, second evolutionist want to make you believe that all the 118 chemical elements that we have today derived from hydrogen. What ? They want to tell me that oxygen derived from helium and so does everything else ? I don't think so.

Stellar and Planetary evolution is also a hoax just like all the other steps. They want to make you believe that somehow the space dust formed stars. We have never seen a star form, but we see supernovas blowing up all the time.

The origin of Life in evolution is maybe the dumbest thing that I have ever heard. Life from non life. In other words, death is the hero if life. this theory was disproved by Louis Pasteur and others 200 years ago. I mean take a glass of anything with something in it and give it a lot of time. You will never see one life getting formed. Guess why ? It is not possible.

Life comes from life, not from non living material.

The next is Macro Evolution which means that an animals can change into a different kind of animal. Have you ever seen a dog produce a non dog or something else than a dog ? No you certainly haven't. And guess why? Because if the Bible is right, the animals bring forth after their kind. I wouldn't argue that a dog, wolf and coyote are a variation, but they are still the same kind. So Species, kinds. You gotta watch this word.

Now what is the purpose of life? Now first of all we need to know that we as humans a made in God's image (Genesis 1:26-27). What does that mean? It means that we reflect something of God's nature, that is, we can think, judge, love, speak, express ourselves and so on. Animals cannot do these things. That is what is meant by that. An animal can love and express itself, but only in a certain extent, not as we as humans do.

The purpose to life is that we come to heaven. Jesus died for us on the cross for our sins, because we are spiritually dead since the fall of humanity. And through faith in Christ, no works (Ephesians 2:8-9) we are getting reborn, transformed by the power from the Spirit of God into God's family.

In short, there is a God, he loves you and he wants you to come to heaven. Don't let yourself be taught that you are an animal, or that your ancestors are animals. Don't you believe this for one second. You are made in God's image. Augustine pointed this out perfectly in that he said to commentary to Daniel 9:23 which tells us: You are loved from God (God loves each and everyone of us so much, as if there would be nothing else to whom he could give his love to.)
