Recommend to anyone who wants to step up their trading game. Simon’s 2+ decades of trading experience shines in this book. Great advice on trading psychology, traps to avoid, as well as specific profitable trading strategies. Very easy to read as well as engaging.As background, I’ve been trading heavily for the past 2 years. After reading this book I feel like I fast forwarded my trading skills by an additional 5 years. Simon’s advice highlighted many of the mistakes I made and will help be even more profitable in the future. I look forward rereading this booking and using it as reference guide for the rest of my trading hobby/career.

I've read multiple trading and options books, and Tao of Trading is the best foundational book I've read. It gives insightful perspective on the markets, challenges conventional wisdom, and connects it all to options trading. The book was laid out clearly and lucidly and was easy to read. i would reading through the book twice and in the order he says from start to finish to get the most benefits. Better than other books by authors selling their own courses - Simon is selling his course too but it does not stand out as filler to make the book useless as for other authors. Good read!

So I’ve been a trader/investor off and on for 25 or so years. I’ve read lots of books going back to Granville and Hurst. Most books don’t show you how to do the essentials, which is identify a trend, the setup, and the trigger. Ree does a good job of that. I’m well versed on indicators so this was of good benefit to me. It’s fairly simple. I like simple. I also like how he equates trading to sex. The psychology of it and the fact that he puts it towards the front of the book. If you don’t have that down you’re going to lose no matter your system. Now the bad. He talks way too much about options. He’s not a day trader, so he explains holding positions for days or more. But at the same time early on he doesn’t want you to have too much stress. The two just don’t mix. I’ve lost a lot of $$$ trading options. I gave that up. You can easily use his “system” to trade ETFs or stocks imho. That’s my plan. He also gives you some bonuses on his web site. A lot of that costs money though. Some have said he pushes his courses on you in the book. I didn’t find that to be the case. So overall this is one of the best trading books I have seen. The one star off is because I don’t think for 99% of traders that options are the way to go.

I've been trading off and on for decades (off mostly because I had a real job). Since Covid I've dug in more seriously, but I also chased every shiny object (trading book, software and seminar). Some were good. Some were not. This is one of the best. His methods are easy for anyone to learn quickly, and in my limited experience with them, they work.

I would also suggest buying Nishant Pant's book "Mean Reversion Trading" which I bought and read just before this one. Both use many of the same methods; both their technical analysis and their methods of options trading. They are similar, but not redundant. They complement each other. I can't tell you how much money and time I've wasted trying to trade options in the past. Usually just long calls or puts. Knew nothing about spread trading, and how that may limit your profits, but it also limits your risks. And nothing is more important than limiting your risks. You can actually sleep at night! Imagine! You don't have to wake up the next day to see that another 40% of your option premium has evaporated.

Personally, his online training materials are very overpriced in my opinion. But that's up to you. I don't think most people with some experience trading (options or not) can pick up these methods quickly and make reasonably consistent returns.
