    Larry Kupper is emeritus alumni distinguished professor of biostatistics, School of Public Health, University of North Carolina (UNC), Chapel Hill, NC. Dr. Kupper is a Fellow of the American Statistical Association (ASA), and he received a Distinguished Achievement Medal from the ASA's Environmental Statistics Section for his career contributions to teaching, research, and service. During his 40 academic years at UNC, Dr. Kupper has won several classroom teaching and student mentoring awards, including the UNC Career Mentoring Award first won by Dean Smith, the legendary UNC Tarheel basketball coach. Dr. Kupper has coauthored over 160 papers in peer-reviewed journals, and he has published several coauthored book chapters. Dr. Kupper has also coauthored three textbooks, namely Epidemiologic Research-Principles and Quantitative Methods, Applied Regression Analysis and Other Multivariable Methods (four editions), and Quantitative Exposure Assessment. The contents of his latest coauthored book, Exercises and Solutions in Biostatistical Theory, come mainly from course materials developed and used by Dr. Kupper for his graduate-level courses in biostatistical theory, taught over a period of more than three decades. Dr. Kupper is a fanatic UNC Tarheel fan and sports fan. He played baseball at the University of Maryland for three years, and he is an avid golfer.
