Ok so I I use to be into reality shows not so much today but I love how this writer weaved a reality tv show into the book! I loved the characters but Kate's headstrong self was about to cause her to loose the love of her life.

The story is about a reality show thats a bit of Bachelor and Survivor together I didn't really get the Survivor part but whatever. The producer (Miles whom I loved to hate) of the show has been trying to hit it big in reality tv. His dad was a famous Movie Producer and his brother Cooper (who I loved to love) took over that part of the company after their dad dies and is rich and very successful while Miles struggles. Cooper doesn't want anything to do with the new reality tv he is doing great following in his dads shoes but his brother comes a calling and asks for help as he has poured all of his money into the show but has No money to advertise the show prior to it viewing on tv, he pitches the sale and Coop tells him to send him what the have so far. Going home from a long days work the security guard that worked years for his dad asks Cooper to play poker with them the next night a game they do every month that his dad use to play it s a chance to sit back have a beer and its zero tolerance of work discussion Cooper agrees. Cooper gets to the poker game and to his surprise a girl is going to be playing and not just any girl a beautiful girl one that gets to him immediately with just a twitch of an eyebrow, she is feisty and he likes it, she proceeds to beat them all and at the end of the night he asks her out and she refuses he reaches for her hand to kiss her a sweet hand kiss goodbye and shocking to Kate she says "you just licked me? And this is the start of the Kate and Cooper show....he finds out later she is on the show her brother is producing so he goes by and she sees him and he isnt what she thought he was at all she was knocked off her feet by the gorgeous Cooper but the working Copper is HOT and she is getting dropped off by her roommate because her car is in the shop she tells her she will get a ride home and Cooper immediately says he will take her home asks what time she will be done and is waiting for her and takes her on the sweetest little get away dinner. She cant date him due to the show she has signed she cannot date or tell anything about the show. They get to know each other and find they both really want more...so I'm not going to give much of the story away I hate full on spoilers but I do enjoy a spot on review, cant say it will be perfect buts my shot. This writer VI Keeland does a wonderful job with a different Alpha male love story. I love how she makes Cooper be dominating yet tender and Kate wanting and willing but cannot be but can she? Kate story is sad she has family problems to the hilt and feels guilty about most and feels obligated to take care of her family that her dying poker playing shark dad left penniless and about homeless. Her mom is sick, her brother has been in a terrible accident and so she is playing her part on the TV show to get them all back on their feet and her back into school to be a physical therapist. Flynn is the Hot tattooed rocker guy that is the Bachelor and he likes Kate a lot, he is nothing like Cooper. I didnt get the feel for much about Flynn but that he is a nice guy that you are going to want to learn more about because he likes the normal girl he isnt all about the fake girls Miles has gotten on the show, I wanted to like Flynn but I love Cooper... Kate also likes him way more than she thought she would but she is desperate to make the final 4 were she is guaranteed an amount of money that will make a huge difference for the family.

So I'm not telling ya much more other than she does end up going out secretly with Cooper and they have Hot Hot Sex and they both make some promises that really they shouldnt. Cooper has plenty of money to take care of Kate and he wants to he says he will give her whatever she wants to quit the show he cannot watch another man falling all over her and want her like he does...then we have Tatiana a beautiful actress that just wrapped up a movie from Coopers Production Company that wants him badly and she puts some extra drama in the mix he doesn't mix with anyone doing business with him but the movie is over and the show is just about to air, does he give the brother I love to hate the money he needs if so isnt Kate in the boat that this beautiful movie star just stepped out of because the movie is a wrap? We have an awards show that has some good fireworks all the way around and we also even have threats, lies spying and brother against brother. Miles always thinks his brother is out to make him look bad, but is he? Is blood thicker than water if his brother asks him to stop would he would he break a heart for his brother? This is a way different style of Hot Alpha male goodness!

Who gets the girl? Does the show win out, is the show even real? Is Cooper Real? You've got to read to find out but luckily for us the writer does finish out the book and we do get an HEA ending but with whom? You got to read to find out..sure glad I did Thank You Vi Keeland for a refreshing Hot read!!!

Its a great book and a wonderful idea! I loved it!

OK romance, but H was too possessive and controlling

This is an OK romance, with lots of steamy scenes. It was mildly entertaining, but I thought Cooper was way too possessive and controlling -- and it bothered me that Kate just couldn't seem to resist him.

Cooper and Kate met after she had already signed a contract to be on a reality show, and her contract forbade any dating/sex at all while the show was filming. Cooper knew that, but he pressured her repeatedly to have sex with him anyway, and she gave in every time. It was obvious that Cooper was used to getting what he wanted, but it was wrong of him to pressure her to break the rules of her contract. I get that he was hoping she would just drop out of the show, but he kept pressuring her even after he found out her reasons for joining the show.

It really bothered me that Kate just couldn't seem to stand up to Cooper. She didn't want to break her contract or leave the show, since she desperately needed the money to help her family, but she just couldn't resist having sex with him anyway. She was supposed to be a strong women, but she was a total wimp when it came to Cooper.

I also didn't really believe that Cooper and Kate were in love. They were definitely in lust, but I just didn't believe they were in love.

I felt sorry for Flynn. He was such a great guy, but Kate really didn't give him a chance. He deserved better than that, especially since he helped her win the show in the end -- even though he knew that she didn't return his love. I won't be reading the next book in this series, which is Flynn's romance, because it contains a love triangle and cheating (which I absolutely cannot stand in a romance). I am really sorry that Flynn gets treated badly in his own story, too, though.

My rating system is below.
1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it.
2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws.
3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating.
4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one.
5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.

This is a stand-alone contemporary romance. I really enjoyed it.

Cooper Montgomery is a wonderful character and I liked him a lot. He is the CEO of a film production company that his father had started. His brother, Miles, has his own company that produces reality TV programmes. When Cooper meets Kate at a poker game, he's immediately attracted to her.

Kate Monroe is also a wonderful character and I liked her too. Her father was a well known poker player. However, due to her father's debts, she signs up for a reality TV show called Throb. When she meets Cooper she is attracted to him, but because of the rules of the show and the contract she signed, she finds herself torn between following the rules or breaking them.

I love reading Vi Keeland's books. I have been a huge fan of this author's ever since I was first introduced to her books in 2013 and I read Belong To You. I downloaded a copy of this book in 2015. Unfortunately, due to my large reading list, I was unable to read it until recently.

I started to read and was quickly hooked. I didn't put this book down until I had finished it.

This book is told through the eyes of both Cooper and Kate, which gives the reader the opportunity to see their thoughts and feelings. The chemistry between Cooper and Kate is extremely explosive from the start and hot enough to scorch the pages. I also loved meeting a few of the other characters who were likeable and lifelike. In fact all the characters were lifelike, with flaws and insecurities which made them more real. Miles came across as a spoilt brat, though he didn't have a lot of page time. I must admit that I liked Flynn Beckham, the bachelor from the TV show. He seemed a really nice guy and I could fall for him myself.

I am not a huge fan of reality TV and I cannot see the appeal of putting on a fake show and calling it "reality". It is not natural or real. Real life is doing household chores, working, raising a family and earning a living the hard way. Not parading around a jungle doing tasks to earn food or sitting in a house full of strangers and again doing tasks to earn specified outcomes, just to earn lots of money and fifteen minutes of fame. Luckily, this book doesn't focus on this aspect, but the relationship between characters who live their lives off camera. The story took me on an emotional rollercoaster ride from beginning to end. I loved the dialogue and the way the characters all interacted; I could picture everything in my mind's eye with ease. As this book is a stand-alone, this book doesn't end in a cliffhanger. Having said that, I am now looking forward to reading Beat when I get the chance.

Vi Keeland has written another exciting erotic romance. I love her writing style, which is fast paced and exciting. The story flowed wonderfully too. I love reading this author's work. She is one of my favourite contemporary romance writers, and I will continue to follow her career with interest.

As this is an erotic romance, there are several scenes of a sexual nature that are rather hot and explicit, as well as some strong language. Therefore, I do not recommend this book for readers younger than 18. However, if you love hot, steamy erotic romances, this book is for you! - Lynn Worton
