I liked this book pretty well, but the whole concept made my skin crawl-which means the book works. The twist at the end was just bizarre, and I'm not sure how I feel about it. The plot would be perfect for a jump-inducing horror movie.

While this is a mostly entertaining and fast paced story, the protagonist came across as dim, much of the action was predictable, and it was just not a believable premise. If you're entertained by meaningless action/suspense movies that only exist to portray violence, then you'll probably like this.

However, early in the book there are several religious references that end up never having anything to do with the story. There are even Bible passages from Psalms (and not very noble ones at that). I could understand if this was an attempt to portray her as being a good person, but it does nothing of the sort. My guess is that it is just an attempt to attract Christian readers (while alienating non-Christians). Trying to figure out what it meant was very distracting.

Started off reading the sample book and was immediately pulled into this action-packed thriller. Had to buy it.

Our main character, Amy Raven, starts off at an emotional and physical distance away from her family and friends. I could feel her loneliness and exile she was enduring. Amy is such a well-developed character that had me gripped from the start. After learning about her incident and the growing wall between her family and friends, I instantly found myself cheering for her, hoping justice would rise. The story takes a fun turn when the element of danger is thrown into the mix and Amy must fight through the twists and turns hurled at her.

I'll admit (and hopefully not spoiling much) there was a twist I didn't see coming. It was one of those moments where I was thinking yeah I know exactly where the author is going with this. Not the case and I was thrilled to be thrown off. Wasn't as typical as I'd thought. And then one more twist was tossed at the end that also had my head spinning.

Hands down, the character Amy was my girl. She's a smart and strong female character that I really admired. The MC brought encouragement and a beautiful display of survival. This is why I loved this book, these types of stories. Wish to read more books like this. Overall, can't go wrong here. Lots of action and suspense that keeps you interested. It was one of those fun reads where I found myself tearing through the chapters and not paying any mind to the time or percentage of reading progress. Totally immersive. Highly recommend.

It started off kind of slow but quickly became a real action thriller as promised. There were a few places where the writing could have been tighter and I thought the “romance” that seemed to be blooming was a little too much (corny, overly done). But once I got into the real action where Amy uses every skill set she has worked hard to learn, it definitely kept my attention. The writer did his research on climbing and other skills and clearly understood the inner workings of amusement parks and rides. Amazing details without becoming boring.

While Amy is in a bad situation to begin with in her personal life and seems very sympathetic, I still had a hard time developing an emotional connection with her.

The author did a good job of putting the Main character in impossible situations but kept pointing out how this was an impossible situation and she would never get out of it.

The heroine and villains were all clever and created challenges for each other. There were enough twists and turns to keep it interesting. Especially at the end...but I won’t spoil that.

Heart-racing, can't catch your breath action. Dunn's writing style quickly pulls a reader in and doesn't let go! Amy is in the game of her life in one of the creepiest settings that I can imagine, and if that isn't enough, Dunn keeps the terror flowing with twists that you'll never see coming. The action feels so real, it had me on the edge of my seat, yelling at the character!

Den lives up to its "Action/Thriller" description! The main character, Amy, is no princess-waiting-for-rescue; she is thrown into a terrifying situation and has to use her wits and skills to attempt escape. This story gives you the feeling you had when you played hide-and-seek, holding your breath while you can hear them just a few feet away, but multiplied tenfold. This is a book I would've absolutely loved as a young adult reader and very much enjoyed as a not-so-young-adult reader. Check it out!

A great thriller! I was drawn in right from the start and felt all of the emotion of Amy trying to survive. I love how Dunn ended his chapters with a hook to get you right into the next one. Well done.
