I bought this as a birthday gift for a very dear friend who is planning a visit to India next year. She has had little to celebrate as a single woman her entire life, with almost no living family and few friends. She worked her entire life in an insurance office until her retirement. She has secured a financially stable life for her elderly years - and has traveled the world by herself. This is her first trip to India - and probably the last global journey she will be physically able to make. She was delighted by this book and has already used it to map out her itinerary for the trip. It turned out to be the perfect gift.

Used this all through India - tore out the pages I needed for the day, because the book is huge and heavy for a backpack excursion. Sadly, I had to leave it behind to make weight on the way home, but I will order another. I was in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Varanasi. Was really good for those areas.

This is the kind of book that has lots of info and you don't feel bad about ripping out the pages of the parts of India you will be going to because it is IN NO WAY a coffee table book. Very utilitarian, but useful! I've done it before. I don't want to carry a bunch of sections of India that I won't be going to, so I rip out the sections I'm going to and staple the sections and I got a mini guidebook, specific to the regions I'm visiting while there.

Covered so much information so succinctly.

The product was a book, and seller rated it "acceptable". Front cover had a notch cut from the edge, so I had to make a cardboard edge to keep it from tearing, and since its a travel guide it would have gotten some rough treatment. I'm satisfied though.

I think I prefer lonely planet, but rg contained just enough useful info that I'd buy it again. Be ready to chop it just the sections you need, though! It's too heavy to take the entire book.

We are planning a trip to India in 2024 and this guide covers all the areas we are hoping to visit, places to stay, places to eat. Also trips on travelling around and places to visit.
Very helpful but the more I read the more places I would like to visit.

Excellent overview of India and the ebook included is a brilliant bonus because the paperback is a brick and I would never bring it with me to India. Kudos!

Great guide but very bulky. Will cut it into sections and take the relevant ones on my trip/in my daypack.
