All of the content provided is well proportioned as it focuses more on informing the user of the applicability, limitations, and general pros/cons of CFD methods, while being more reserved in discussing the primary mathematics. Extensive literature reviews are present for every topic, providing the reader with a guide to further investigate a topic of interest. In this way, Dr. Blazek has made a modern and efficient road map to the field of applied CFD, which is very appropriate for both industry and researchers. The finite volume method, being the primary of the CFD field, is covered well. As a CFD researcher, I believe this is the most valuable CFD text available, having served me as a foundational guide which I continue to reference even after extensive reading.

Anyone who hopes to learn about the Discontinuous Galerkin and the Lattice Boltzmann Gas methods from this book will be deeply disappointed. In particular only two lines in page 38 are dedicated to the Discontinuous Galerkin method. As regards the rest of the book be prepared to copy or download lots of papers since the author often refers to equations of papers that are not even presented in the book. Finally let us not forget that nature is 3D.

5.0 out of 5 stars Livro Excelente.
Reviewed in Brazil on October 22, 2017
