The Virgin and the Harlot Secret Guide to the Apocalypse Kindle Edition

4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars 9 ratings

Note: This is The Soul's Secret in one volume.
The last book in the Bible, The Revelation, is a book whose time has come. Two of the startling images in the book are those of the Whore of Babylon in Chapter 17 and the Woman clothed in the Sun with the Moon at her feet in Chapter 12. These two great female images are like two pillars supporting the whole of creation. Which pillar carries the most weight?
Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and said to me, "Come, I will show you the judgment of the great harlot who is seated upon many waters, with whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and with the wine of whose fornication the dwellers on earth have become drunk." Rev 17:1-2
Or
And a great portent appeared in heaven, a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars; she was with child and she cried out in her pangs of birth, in anguish for delivery. Rev 12:1-2
One is adorned by the cosmos, the other adorned with the gifts of the earth; one producing a child, the other producing a cup of abominations and impurities; one crying out in pain, the other drunk.
Essentially, we can find the virgin and the harlot everywhere. More than anything, we find them in our own consciousness. It serves no purpose to want one without the other; that would be unbalanced. What is important is to try to understand why these two images play such an important role in the development of humanity. They are not chosen randomly and they are not chosen to bring shame and regret.
This book takes a journey through each chapter and verse in The Revelation exploring the hidden meaning behind the words used in the original Greek. It reveals the highest and lowest in the human mind and shows how we can use the lower as steps to the higher.
The Apocalypse is not about the destruction of the Universe, or the earth, it is about rebirth in the same way a plant is reborn from its seed, year after year. The events in The Revelation assist us to prepare for the changes that will take place in our own consciousness as it is continually reborn. We know this though don’t we? We can’t think the same thought over and over - if we did we would be insane. We do, however, return to the same thoughts in our daily encounters and this is how we judge things. It is the harlot who judges harshly and without much thought. She continually goes back to her own preconceived ideas, never considering the effect of her judgements on the other person.

Review

This book ofknowledge, of wisdom that will aid in the understanding of the meaning of theRevelation and that it is a gift from Jezebel, The Harlot, given to the worldto spite the Devil (which proves that you can never trust a whore).

From the Author

Writing this book was an extraordinary journey. Each week over three years I worked my way through the book of Revelation. I learned so much, I was surprised often, and my spiritual understanding of humanity grew significantly.

Once you begin to delved into this book the understanding of our life's purpose grows. This is The Revelation. It shines a light on the evolution of consciousness like nothing else can.

I am grateful for the opportunity to take this journey, I hope you will join me.

Kristina Kaine has worked with people all her life: during her early career in medical sales and staff recruitment, and since 1987 in her own business which matches people in business partnerships. Through this rich interaction with people, Kristina has observed the struggle for self identity from many angles. She was awakened to the ideas of Rudolf Steiner by Rev Mario Schoenmaker, attending all of Schoenmaker's lectures for 14 years. After Schoenmaker's death in 1997, Kristina realised the need to explain the knowledge of the threefold human being in simple terms that could be applied easily in daily life. She has set this out in her book, 'I Connecting : the Soul's Quest', which was published in 2007 by Robert Sardello through Goldenstone Press. It is not unusual for Kristina to receive comments about her book like this: "It seems like a very lucid treatment, like looking through a clear glass window through which one can discover and recognize the landscape of the soul."

Since 2003 Kristina has written weekly reflections which apply this knowledge of the threefold human being to Bible texts. This is not done in the context of any particular religious beliefs but from a broader perspective that all religions could apply. These reflections are distributed by email and are read worldwide. They are now available as Kindle books.

Since 2016 Kristina has a blog published on Huffington Post http://www.huffingtonpost.com/author/kristina-845

This book is identical to Kristina Kaine's, The Soul's Secret. I have to assume that the publisher (?) thought that a new title would get more sales. Whatever. The book is fantastic: a very practical guide to St. John's Revelation.

This is Kristina Kaine's insights and reflections upon this most mysterious chapter of Revelations that is in the Bible. She offers a thoroughly modern, I AM - infused approach to John's Revelation. This book can be read over a period of time, as meditations, and be read as a guide to self knowledge. The book reveals the highest and lowest in the human mind and shows how we can use the lower as steps to the higher. Please note: This is the same book as The Soul's Secret Unveiled in one volume. How nice to have them all together.

Kristina Kaine has finally bowed to her fans' request and put her collected weekly contributions in book form. No one has ever claimed that the Book of Revelation - or Apocalypse is easy to understand. Ms Kaine not only explains and clarifies, but also puts a new slant on the hidden meaning of the original Greek idiom. By doing so, she also speaks to us in a new, intuitive language. Kristina Kaine has been kind enough to give us permission to occasionally publish her pieces, which have always been received with great interest by our readers: [...]

Several years ago I read these revelation meditations by Kristina Kaine and can earnestly recommend them to all readers. I read these over a long period of time, one meditation every week or so, and now you can read them straight through in one volume.

Life can be experienced as being beyond understanding by reasonable people if its deeper secrets are not known. In this work Kristina opens a way to come to new insights about the human condition if one should wish to know of them. Her thoughts are clearly expressed and very accessible. This is a work that will reward the close attention of the reader.

This book is timely and necessary in a soul starved world. As a young adult, I devoured every book written on the Revelation of John, and was not satisfied by any of them. Ms. Kaine has brought these magnificent mysteries into brilliant and clear focus. As a lawyer, I appreciate the method. As a mystic, I appreciate the content. MaryAnn Fry

Ms. Kaine gives valuable insight into the meaning of the most intense and mysterious book of the Bible, The Apocalypse. By examining and meditating on the meaning of original Greek words, St. John's great vision is made understandable.

For anyone who is serious about growing closer to God.

What a blessing to have Kristina Kaine's sensitive, provocative reflections upon this most mysterious of texts! Blending linguistic and historical scholarship with keen psychological and social insight, The Soul's Secret offers a thoroughly modern, I AM - infused approach to John's Revelation.
