This was a gift for my bf. He plays it all the time and he deserves the hard cover book. HOWEVER. He just opened it and it was dented in & said the package was also ripped open a bit.. Idk if that’s how it was packaged or how the delivery company delivered it but that’s unacceptable. My bf said he’s okay with it but it still hurts to see as a book collector myself.

AND THE BEST PART is that this is written by the creators of the game; so the detail is for sure here in these books. These are a must have!!!

This is a truly incredible guide to have while playing Elden Ring. Especially at the price ($40 at this time). The detailed maps and NPC story guideline are key for ensuring nothing is missed. Of course you can find the same info on the awesome community wikis, but there's something cool and convenient to have a physical book while playing. Part of it appeals to the older days of RPG gaming with thick guidebook, and the amazing RPG that ER is makes for the perfect fantasy game experience in today's age. I'm eagerly awaiting Vol 2 for the continued knowledge on combat and equipment guides, which is not included here. I also wish the index was more fleshed out. The way it's structured, you'll probably be flipping back and forth constantly between the maps/dungeon guides and the storyline sections. I haven't mentioned the hardback and page quality is great, no notes. The map is huge but can be partially folded and flipped during use and so far it's holding up. I highly recommend this book if you're considering.

If you are not familiar with Future Press and you are a fan of High-Quality Collector Video Game Strategy Guides then look no further. FP is quite honestly the Mercedes of printed guides. High Quality, insanely accurate, and exhaustively researched. This Volume includes everything you need for a full and complete walkthrough including all endings etc. for Elden Ring.
Volume 2 will be more of a Beastiary, with full info on all enemies and bosses you meet on your travels but don't worry, Volume 1 is as complete as you need to beat the game and find everything. As others here have mentioned, Amazon's packing was under par and I also had a slight dent on one corner but this isn't Future Press's fault. Hopefully, someone @ Amazon reads these and packs them better later.

5 stars for the Book and its quality and info. Also comes with a huge, 2 sided Map of the entire overworld of the game area.

2 Stars for Amazon's bad packaging.

Also note, these books have a high resale value as they always sell out and do not get re-printed so don't wait! Just check the re-sale prices on their past Dark Souls editions and you will see!

This book is a printed wikipedia. A nicely produced wikipedia, but a wiki nonetheless.
You are not really getting a true strategy guide, certainly not a lore book (the whole story section of the two books together is the last 10 pages of the first book) and not an art book (every picture is taken in-game except for the chapter titles). If you are looking for those, you will not find them here.
What you do get here are detailed maps with locations and items, quest line explanations, list of every spell, object, and enemy in the game.
But let's be frank here: you will never ever use it for that information since you will get it way faster on the internet, whether you left that melted mushroom in the area or not. Also, everything is quite literally taken from the game, so if you read the item description, then you have read everything.
So if you are looking for something mentioned in the first few sentences or you think you want to regularly grab this book for reading, please don't buy it.
If you are looking for something Elden Ring related that is great quality and you can put it out for display and very rarely browse through it out of nostalgia, then it is a book worth getting.
