KB's History of ECW Pay Per Views Kindle Edition

2.3 2.3 out of 5 stars 3 ratings

Back in the 1990s, a little company based out of Philadelphia was able to change the wrestling world forever. Using a hardcore style that was completely different from the dominant wrestling promotions, Extreme Championship Wrestling was able to break through the glass ceiling and become a force in the industry. In this new book, we'll be looking at every show, breaking them all down match by match and segment by segment. I'll be providing play by play, context, analysis and ratings for the matches and show as a whole.

My name is Thomas Hall and I've been a dedicated wrestling fan for over 25 years. I've seen over 50,000 matches and have written over 2000 full show reviews, covering everything from 1960s WWWF to the Golden Age to the Attitude Era to the Ruthless Aggression Era to modern wrestling and all points from almost all companies in between. I hope you enjoy my work and thank you for reading.

This is pretty bad stuff, writer completely misses the boat about what ECW was and really judges these shows from a weird perspective, almost like shooting fish in a barrel with some of his critiques, almost like he has an agenda with this to prove that ECW wasn't as good as fans remembered and shouldn't be as well remembered as it is. Everybody has a right to their opinion but I feel like the writer really glosses over a lot of info and context, besides that I feel like ECW on PPV was really not the real ECW so if you want to cover the history of the company to only cover their PPV shows you are missing the point of what the company was.

The author hated almost every match and ppv. He criticized matches for being violent, which was a major point of ECW. What did he expect going in?
