Marmalade Jam (Marmalade Jam Therapeutic Books Book 1) Kindle Edition

5.0 5.0 out of 5 stars 2 ratings

"Marmalade Jam" is a whimsical children's fairy tale that tells the story of Juno the fluffy bunny's healing and recovery from trauma. Children who are dealing with something upsetting in their lives may resist talking about their own feelings or fears, but feel happy to jump in and discuss Juno's situation. Parents, therapists, and teachers can read this charming story to children to stimulate awareness, conversation, and healing. Adults who were traumatized as children are also able to process emotions and fears by way of this therapeutic yet delightful tale. Based on a real child who used therapeutic storytelling and dialogue to recover from serious trauma and abuse, this book is the first in Marmalade Jam Therapeutic Series. Also look for the Marmalade Jam coloring book, with black and white images of Juno and his grandparents from scenes throughout the story ... so children can use their creative minds while they listen to the story and process their own feelings and experiences (to promote whole brain learning and healing). "Marmalade Jam" also opens the door for discussions about food insecurity. The author, Darleen Claire Wodzenski, is an author, lecturer, clinical mental health counselor, and exceptional student educator who works to promote the healing and development of children and adults who suffer from trauma, abuse, neglect, or developmental interruption. Proceeds from "Marmalade Jam" support the nonprofit 501(c)3 organization Orchard Human Services, Inc.

This book is an excellent therapeutic tool. I work as a mental health professional. Upon reading this book multiple clients came to mind who would benefit from this book. I meet so very many people that are lost after a trauma and feel broken. The amazing thing is that this book provides a clear message on how to recover from trauma that is consistent with everything I have discovered through my learning and experience. I have had the privilege of reading an advanced copy of the second book in the series and that one is even better!

What a wonderful story of a young child's trauma turned healing. As a mother of children who have suffered trauma I enjoyed how the author to a simple item, that seemingly shouldn't cause a child distress, and lovingly brought it back into the child's life. A great concept I plan to use with my children
