A Broken Hero.
An Impulsive Heroine.
An Impossible Task.

In the race to save his business and her career, they are up against the clock, his past and each other.

Edward Walker is a man about to have everything taken from him. He can count the people he trusts on one hand, and all but one is employed by his company. Losing his business is not an option. To save it, he needs a miracle of a campaign. Dorothy Johansen is the advertising associate assigned to Edward’s account. But when she makes the slightly slurry late night call to tell Walker she can’t run the campaign, he’s not taking no for an answer. If he could only keep his mind off Dorothy’s assets and focused on saving his own– it just might work.
Dorothy wants to help Edward, she really does, but there is nothing about this campaign that is easy. Her client is as aggressive and frustrating as he is handsome, and all too willing to mix business and pleasure. Between the mixed signals and the dark secret he won’t share…

I'm Trixie More, and I'm so happy you're here.

I write romance novels about women who don't, actually, need a man to save them. In fact, don't be surprised if she drives up in a sports car and rescues him.

I became hooked on romance when I stumbled across Seduced, by Pamela Britton, on the rack in my local supermarket - talk about a man that didn't want any help. I never looked at a plum the same way again.

I read romance novel after romance novel. You know how it happens. You start out with one, and then five months later, you need a new bookcase. Next thing you know, love conquers all becomes the theme of your next book. You can see how it would go that way? Right?

I am Trixie More. I write. I read. I love me a rippin' good romance.

Jump in the car, and let's go.

I loved Edward and Dorothy’s story. She had been “Baby Dot” whose whole family had been murdered. He had been drugged and molested as a young man. Both had had some notoriety due to these events. I loved how the author showed the way that these events affected each of them. I loved that Dot wanted to take care of Edward, and that he wanted to be there for her but was often triggered by her actions. She of course was just confused by him.
She was passionate about his company and doing her best to promote it. They worked together so well. I loved that she was such a strong woman. This book had me tearing up at one moment and hot the next.
I will definitely read more books by this author.

This was a really good read- there were many plot twists and turns, sub texture plots that became resolved which I really liked. And lots of romance. I knew this book was good when I had read about half of it and was thinking about it the next day trying to figure out what would happen next. I picked up the book that night and finished it. The characters were well developed and you could clearly root for the good guys and cheer when justice wins. I really liked that the backdrop of the story was based on an environmental issue without being overbearing or preachy.

Interesting plot with lots of twist and turns; Some adventure and lots of romance. But what makes this special is how two seemingly broken people are even stronger because of it. The protagonists have strength and bravery in spades...And lots of love... and love making. Thanks for a beautiful day spent enjoying a great story.

I loved this book. Really. Loved the H and h. They were very good together, and the author did a great job of making the reader care for them and want good things to happen for them. I would've given it a 4- or 5-star rating except for the following. SPOILER ALERT! When you have nasty, mean people in a book, I want to see them get their comeuppance, and that didn't happen here. The heroine is wrongfully fired from her job after being accused of taking credit for another person's work with no proof whatsoever, and then was further blacklisted from other jobs in her field. No mention of a lawsuit or an apology, a financial payout from the company that did her wrong, nothing. She's apparently going to keep working for her bf's company forever, since these charges are going to hang over her. On top of that, the really, really bad guy, the one who should be in prison for many years to come, is let off the hook with a slap on the wrist, even when the police catch him quite literally in the middle of a kidnapping and probable attempt at murder. The bad guy has had a tattoo removed that would prove he was responsible for another heinous crime years earlier, and the fact that the h knew about the tattoo was the whole reason she was kidnapped and almost killed, but the police make no attempt to find any other evidence, or who removed the tattoo so they can prove it was there and matched. The reader is expected to believe the man's money is going to get him off the hook, but it's all good, because the H and h are going to be so happy together. Very frustrating. Maybe this kind of thing happens in real life, but I want a better ending in a romance novel.
